Hickory Dickory Decks

Our entire experience with Hickory Dickory Decks was great from start to finish. Geoff is very knowledgeable and took the time to explain all of our options and exactly how the process would go. Despite being very busy, Geoff responded quickly to any questions we had. He helped us choose the best product options within our budget and as a result, we have a deck that is more beautiful than we ever imagined. Anyone who sees it is very impressed with both how it looks and the quality of construction.

Kosal and Cam are a great team and a pleasure to have around. They were always polite, respectful and very quiet while working. Their attention to detail is very evident in the finished product.

Steve Hall was great from the start.

Our first meeting took about 2 hours for him to gather all our requirements, but had to scale down a bit due to our budget. Even with the budget constraints (relatively small project for him, ~200 Sq. Ft deck) he was able to deliver a great deck. Overall project took a total of 2 days, but some material delay it took about 2 weeks. There were some imperfections on some of the composite boards and couldn't use it so he had to order more.

As any contracting projects there were concerns but he was very solution oriented and quick to respond. The concerns were minimal, he didn't put down the landscape cloth that blocks plants from growing, called him and fixed it the next day. The other one I had to point out to him was regarding the drain pipe. They had to remove the cement block that runs the water away from the house. I called him and asked him what we can do, he told me to buy an roof drain pipe extension and his team was able to install it.

Overall, I would 100% recommend Steve. If I had to build another deck, I would definitely call him again.

I researched several deck companies on Homestars after going to the Home Show. After interviewing several of them, I decided to go with Hickory Dickory deck and it is definitely the right move.

Steve is very professional and I was well informed throughout various stages. He was very patience and informative about the project, I enjoyed working with his team as they are very reliable, quick and clean. Steve always took the time to answer all my questions and concerns.

Geoff Aucoin was very helpful and professional from the first meeting through design and material selection. He also assisted in recommending another contractor to do steps and retaining wall around the deck who co-ordinated well with the deck install. The crew of Fred and Mitch were friendly and skilled at their jobs. We made some changes as the installation progressed and this did not seem to be a problem. The job was finished within the time frame we expected. Good experience overall and we look forward to not having to paint a deck every summer.

I want to thank Steve Hall and his team for building such a beautiful deck. Steve was well informed, explained the process thoroughly and ensured our satisfaction the entire time. It looks amazing and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. We went with a composite deck, with a cedar privacy wall with lights all along the deck. I’m thrilled with the outcome and I’m excited to start using our new deck.

Amazing work. Great crew. Really smooth experience from the quote process to the build. Excellent attention to detail and well worth the money. Not the cheapest solution but worth the investment going with composite.

We had dreamed of building a new, much bigger deck ever since we bought our home in December 2013. From design to construction and cleanup, Geoff from Hickory Dickory Decks and the guys were a dream to deal with. The new deck (composite and cedar) on time and on budget and it looks fabulous. It was a pleasure dealing with Geoff and his team for my deck replacement. Geoff was very knowledgeable, explaining the different options available, products, styles, etc. Decided to go with a composite flooring, and cedar railings with cedar lattice work on the outside, providing fairly low-maintenance and product longevity. Kosal, the Head Builder and his team did an amazing job. Kosal is knowledgeable, detail-oriented and a perfectionist and leads an extremely hard-working team. The entire team were polite, answered all my questions during the entire project, and did an amazing clean-up job upon completion. I could not be happier with my new deck and would strongly recommend them to anyone.

The home Starts site actually lead me to this contractor and I am very happy it did. From the moment of contact via e-mail thru completion HDD did a great job. Jeff was very easy to deal with, most importantly he listened! Worked with our ideas and concerns re existing gardens etc. Meetings were on time and informative, including a 3D image of the final product which gave us confidence in our choices. Fred and Adam the building crew were excellent, showed up on time and were very meticulous in their work. Fred always had a good story to start the day and ensured all alterations to the original plan were done thru consultation. The finished product, one we are happy to show our guests and will last well beyond our time here.
