car port

Gave me the B/S line "exactly that one in stock - not picked up by customer - give you a deal". Not a deal at all - sold me the wrong carport! Ordered it RIGHT FROM FUTURE STEEL WEBSITE PHOTO - by product # too! Still the wrong one. I noticed when they sent the wrong plans. Was then told by the salesman " nooo, that's the right one - really" - "trust me, they all look like that on the plans" I didn't trust them and had new plans drawn up, and a new contract.
In all fairness to them, they didn't argue or ask for more money. They just said don't pour your footings, we're doing new plans as fast as we can - fair enough - sort of.
Took 2 MORE months to get the right one!
Winter set in. Defeated the whole purpose of purchase.
Delivered at night making proper inspection almost impossible.
Packing list is indecipherable for a layman installer so you really wouldn't know if all the correct, proper fitting parts are there or not. Hope they are...
...install delayed 7 months probably - can't wait to find out if nothing fits or if pieces are missing - as most other reviews suggest.
Instructions a generic "works with all building types" sort of construction guidelines. Non of which are for a building like my carport.
Sales managers and salesman - for the most part, very nice on the phone. No complaints that way.
BOTTOM LINE: antiquated B/S sales system.
High pressure closing techniques. Reminds me of Kirby vacuum sales pitches of the 70's & 80's.
Out of touch with modern consumer intellect.
Out of touch with modern customer service expectations.
Out of touch with communication skills between parties.
Out of touch with social media reviews (obviously).
Need to improve the customer interface policies to prevent these types of consumer reactions.
So:
BE PROACTIVE IN DOING YOUR HOMEWORK.
CHECK EVERY DETAIL OF YOUR CONTRACT BEFORE SIGNING.
CHECK LOCAL BYLAWS WITH YOUR PLANS.
HAVE DELIVERY SCHEDULED ONLY FOR A TIME WHEN YOU CAN CHECK EVERYTHING VERY CAREFULLY.
Insist on structure specific assembly booklet.
It's too bad - they seem like a good company with good products.
I wanted it to be better for that much money.
Lets hope the worst is behind me.

Steel Building

We erected the building in Dec 2013, during the winter the roof split in 8 places. Future Steel would do nothing for me. They have NO Warranty at all. After contacting a lawyer they agreed to sell replacements parts at 50% off. Stay away from Future Steel their product is not worth the money.

steel garage

I bought the garage paid my 1500.00 and they sent me the drawings to get the permit as they told me that I dont need anything else for the City but these engineered aproved drawing. Went to the City to get my permit and guess what , the City doesn't accept these drawings without a form that has to be filled from these engineers who made the drawings . I called right away Karl who sold me the unit explained to him what just a City representative had told me and now Future Buildings is asking me to pay more $1200.00 because they hided from me that I needed something more than those drawings that they provide and swear that Is the only thing that the Citt wants to approve you for the permit WRONG ... I contacted other engineeriers do fill out that for but they told me that they can take responsibility for others engineers work and they advise me to go with the engineer who made the original drawing . BE CAREFUL , THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING . THEY HIDED FROM ME ABOUT THE FORM AND THEY KNOW THAT OTHER ENGINEERS DONT TAKE OVER THEY DRAWINGS AND THEY WANTME AND YOU TO PAY WHAT THEY ENGINEERS ARE ASKING FOR , THEY ARE SO WRONG ABOUT THAT THOUGH ...

Future Steel - Buyer Beware

Update: I am pleased to say I received a satisfactory outcome to this problem. Thank you Future Buildings for making it right for me.

Looked at ordering a building July 2012. Paid a $1,500 deposit and noticed on their order form I was missing the back of the page (done via email). Asked for it and received but the terms were unacceptable so I asked for more info. No response. I then receive the stamped drawings and I tried calling the company a couple of times but couldn't get through. They were to have shipped the building by the end of August 2012. I figured I was taken and had no recourse because the order form states the deposit is non-refundable because of the drawings.
I get a call a couple of days ago (9 months later!) looking for the rest of their deposit. After some discussion, he tried to tell me they were to deliver the building this coming August - Aug 2013.
In opinion they did not uphold their end of the agreement. I did ask for some of my deposit back but you guessed it, I'm still out of pocket.
I would advise anyone thinking of dealing with Future Steel to read the warranty and purchase order very carefully.

Worst company ever. Send me parts too short, and now they want to charge me 380$ for one little piece. I didn't mind working 8 hours to fix their mistake...but they still want me to pay. They answer my email one every 4... and usually say that to contact someone elese in the company.... DON'T GET LURED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steel Barn Building

Our “S” model steel building is a real asset to our farm. It is surprising how much room there is inside – I can fit everything I wanted and more in this type of building. It was very easy to put up, after the first two panels things went very smooth.

We had several people stop to watch who were impressed the way it was constructed and what it actually looked like from the rows of steel to the final building.

We had so many comments on how nice this building turned out. Our rep was helpful and called me back when i left a message for him.

I'd buy from them again.

Purchase of x-style building

I purchased a 35 X 80 X 18 Steel Structure. Advertising promised that it would be easy to assemble. Not true. Maybe for a smaller building, but, not this size. Good service. Not true as they were hard to get in contact with at times. Plans that would be easy to follow. Not true! It turned out we had the plans for the older inventory and these were not up to date. The blue prints, while stamped by an engineer were hard to follow. This caused a lot of lost time and not to mention money. Also, they claimed that the accessories such as insulation would be reasonable. Not true either! The building is up now, but, labour cost soared making it a much more expensive project than first thought. I think once the insulation (Future Steel's insulation kit price is also very high) is in I will be happy with it, and it appears that I will have a sound building, but, my recommendation to fellow builders and what I will be doing on another project planned for later this year is; build with wood or find another company supplying similar products that are willing to support you with the project with plans that are easy to follow. I think you will have less headaches. If you have to deal with them, be careful and get everything up front in writing.
