After doing research for a good window and door company, I hired Fleming windows to replace my front door and sidelights, my 2 picture widows, side door, and a basement window. I ordered in Oct 4, 2016. I expected to wait 6-8 weeks. End of November, I still haven't heard from this company. I called and they said they were waiting for the door. They said everything should be ready within 2 weeks. 21/2 weeks later, I still hadn't heard from them. I called them and they said "oh yeah, they're coming tomorrow to install your windows and doors" This is now mid-December! Had to take the day off work last minute because of this. Workers come the next morning. Installed front picture window and front door and frame with sidelights. It was not the one I had ordered. I called the salesman, wayne and he said he will remedy it. The workers asked if I wanted my screen door put back on after they install door casement. I said "oh yes, that's really important to me". I saw a large tim hortons cup laying on it's side on my cream coloured carpet. It was empty, so I didn't make an issue of it. Next, they tell me I need the hardware for the door. I didn't know that since nobody has spoken to me since I ordered in October. I went out to buy the hardware. Upon returning, guys were packing up ready to leave. They said they would have to return tomorrow to do the rest?? All day for 1 window and 1 casement door. The guy installed the hardware on the door. I opened the door, my screen dore was gone. I reminded them that it was to be replaced. The guy said "we couldn't, it doesn't fit" I asked them what they were going to do about it. Guy simply stated "nothing, it doesn't fit". Now that was when I got upset. After the guys left, I went to have a look at the door and noticed a large coffee stain on my furniture and carpet! (not where I saw the cup earlier). My spouse and I had just bought the house in September and paid a lot of money to have our cream coloured carpets cleaned! Then I notice big pieces of plaster chipped around the door frame after trim was already back on! My upholstered bench in my foyer had black dirt all over it, possibly where they put their tools. The door itself is completely off by about 1" and tilted in the casement. I called and left a message that I would let them keep the deposit for the big window, but I wanted my old door and screen put back on. (they couldn't find it). The owner Larry came the next day. I showed him everything and told him I don't want them to do anymore work for me. He offered to replace the door with one that I ordered and he would replace my screen door at no cost. He offered to clean the stain on my carpet and chair. I was ok with that and decided I would continue business with them. Unfortunately, he said unless I had the same crew out to continue the work, I would have to wait until March. I was ok with that. 1st week of March, I called and of course left a message with the receptionist to have them call me. No call. Today March 15/17, I called again. Same receptionist answers before 4 pm. The owner is "gone for the day and will be back tomorrow", I left another message with her. She very nonchalantly said "ok, I'll let him know". And of course I have yet to hear anything. This company Fleming Windows, is not concerned with customers. Terrible service, terrible workmanship, terrible relations! This is the first time I have ever written a review about anything! I guess litigation comes next. Do yourself a favour and don't hire Fleming windows, 40 years in business they boast, I think it's time they retire!
