Sofa, love seat

purchased a leather sofa &love seat and very disappointed. The sofa is very uncomfortable - the seats cushions are to soft and the leather has wrinkled badly - I will never purchase from this store again! Sofa and LS are less than 3 years old!!

Excellent experience purchasing a bed

Backstory: I hate shopping.

Purchase: Walked into EQ3 Burlington. Met Janice. Told her I liked the bed but was waiting for a sale of some sort. She kindly added me to her e-mail list and notified me a few weeks later of a 20% off sale. Bought it over the phone with an estimated delivery of 8 weeks.

The bad: 8 weeks later, no call. So I called EQ3 (Winnipeg) and was told there was a delay because of a leather shortage.

The good: Same call, they offered to compensate me by offering free delivery. Worked out to about $100 to my location.

The awesome: Delivery happened on the new date. Delivery crew was excellent. Wore shoe booties. Took care not to dent the walls. Even apologized when one of the boxes was dented by a rock and inspected everything to make sure nothing was damaged.

Overall: Bed is beautiful quality. Had a very good low hassle purchasing experience. When something went wrong, EQ3 did everything they could to compensate. EQ3 Burlington (Janice and Scott) in particular was very good in making this a good experience as well.

TV stand

I actually have to admit that I didn't have high hopes for this store upon entry for the first time. It looked like the styling was too 'out there' for me at first, but I committed to looking around because I had heard from a friend that nice things could be found here. I was looking for a TV stand. And lo and behold, I found one at EQ3 that fit the bill - solid wood, black, large enough for our 52 inch TV, not too 'out there' looking, and $500 was much cheaper than similar ones that I had seen. It was much nicer than ones I had seen at big box electronics stores. They also had a promotion going on that if you spent over $500 then you recieved a $100 gift card - no strings attached. I used the gift card to buy a lamp and cushion. I always check out EQ3 now when shopping for furnishings - I haven't bought anything else, but have seen a number of things for all tastes, and have recommended it as well.

bookshelf and dresser

I recently purchased a floor model dresser and bookshelf from the eq3 Burlington store. Seeing as the units were floor models I thoroughly inspected the furniture before purchasing. Upon receiving the units I noticed a chip on the front corner of the dresser which had obviously been touched up with black paint (which did not match). The bookshelf had a circle mark on the top right corner from where the price sticker was... This was also touched up with a paint that did not match the units colour. Spoke with manager who informed me that this damage must have occurred during the move and assured me it did not happen in the store! I assured her that is not the case because the damage was attempted to be covered up! She was rude and not willing to discuss the matter. Spend your money elsewhere... This place obviously does not know the meaning of customer service or customer satisfaction!

SCARPA table

I purchased the table on January 6, 2009, and was told 4-6 weeks to delivery. After 8 weeks I called, and was told another two weeks. After 12 weeks, I called to cancel the order and was told that it had arrived. When I got it, the base was damaged (exterior packaging was pristine, so it happened in manufacture or in packaging at the plant). I was given an 800 number by the store, and was told to send pictures and proof of purchase to prove my case - despite the fact the movers which EQ3 hired witnessed a document stating the material was damaged. After another couple of weeks, the replacement arrived, damaged more badly than the original, and in the same way - again with perfect exterior packaging, so I sent it back. I called customer service many times during this ordeal, and the rep was clueless - *refused* to let me speak to a manager. My complaint e-mails were deleted without being read (Outlook notice), and were never answered. Finally I contacted the BBB with a complaint and Palliser (EQ3's parent company), and FINALLY started to get some replies. Eventually, I did get an undamaged table (after yet another damaged replacement), but it took until mid-July. Love the look, liked the price, liked the movers (the firm EQ3 uses is actually very good), really like the table, but would absolutely NEVER shop there again. Without question, the worst customer service I've ever had.

Home decorating

I bought a TV stand from EQ3 and it had to be shipped from Western Canada. When it arrived it had a dent in the top, and I had a pretty hard time getting the Burlington store to help me in any way (beyond probiding a 1-800 number that I could call) - I was extremely frustrated at first (i.e., with the store itself), but in the end I'd have to say that the company did a good job fixing things. The 'general' customer service line put me in touch with their CS department in Alberta, and from there they did a great job in rectifying the problem. I had a new table top in just a few weeks time - delivered right to my door.

ceiling lamp

I ordered a ceiling lamp for my dining room 3 and a half months ago and am still waiting for it. I called about a week ago asking about it and they said that it was in, they just forgot to call me to tell me. It took me over an hour to get to the store and back, but I drove over and the sales girl said that she was mistaken and that it was someone else's order that was in. I was fuming at this point so the manager agreed to ship the light to my house once it was in. They called me finally to let me know that they would be delivering the light, but of course, they did not show up, nor did they call to tell me that they could not make it. I have yet to see this light. Needless to say, I will never be visiting this store again. The customer service is appalling and continues to be even after numerous mistakes, which to me says that they could care less about their customers. Absolutely horrible and unacceptable.

Living Room 3 piece sofa, love seat and chair

EQ3 has been the best find to date for good quality products with a sheek contemporary design for 1/3 of the cost where you will find it anywhere else. I have purhcased living room furniture, lamps, area rugs and a bed frame all from the same store. Love it.

New sofa and chairs

Loved the whole experience - was a little worried when I read other reviews but took the plunge anyway and am REALLY glad - especially Jana, the store manager, who was patient, helpful, informative but never pushy. She helped make the choices understandable - and there are lots of them - and we added a few things like a great rug and mirror when she showed us how it all worked together.

Furniture purchase

I purchased a bed from the V2 collection at this store, and the turn around time on the delivery was excellent! I bought about $600 worth of furniture and accessories, and the staff was very helpful; they gave me the choice between setting up my purchase or delivering the item flat packed, which worked out more to be more convenient for me. I would go back there again--especially if the flat packed item assembles easily!
