Chouinard Bros Roofing

After noticing some leaking during a recent storm we knew it was time to replace our already damaged roof. I was referred to Chouinard Bros by a friend and after obtaining a few other quotes decided they came in with the best price and offered the best customer service.

The service they offered was top notch from the get go. Krista was responsive to all of our needs did a great job of working with us through the process and could not have done a better job of helping us. The team that was dispatched for the job was quick, professional, did an amazing job and were in and out like ninjas.

I would highly recommend using Chouinard Bros to anyone that is looking to get any work done, I know that if I do need any more work done (which given their quality of work won't be any time soon) they will definitely be my first choice.

Chouinard Bros has completed a number of projects for us in a professional and satisfactory manner, e.g. new eave troughs and shingling the roof. Arriving home from vacation, we were met with an overhang roof that had been severely damaged by squirrels. Chouinard quickly replaced it for us. Having been totally satisfied with their service and the quality of their workmanship in the past, it was easy to choose them to install soffits, siding and new shutters. Krista assisted us with our decisions. Her manner was friendly and professional. At no time did we feel pressured to upscale. Krista's recommendations were useful and she has gone out of her way to help us. The work was completed ahead of the projected timeline and we are very satisfied with quality of the work. We have received many compliments from our neighbours and would not hesitate to recommend Chouinard for soffits, siding etc. as we have recommended them in the past for re shingling rooves.

I have always used the services of Chouinard Bros. Roofing for general inspection to roof replacement in the past. I believe the company is reputable and based on the # of years in business, the job that was done in May 2014, I will continue to used and reccomend their services to future clientelle. In saying this though, I believe the pricing was a little high as mentioned to the Sales Rep, although.

My wife and I were in need of a new roof and we heard good things about Chouinard Brothers, so we have them a call. The estimator was able to answer any questions we had and the roofers did an excellent job and kept the site very clean. Thank you for all your hard work and great service!

Chouinard reshingled my roof and redid the eavestroughs in 2008. In 2012 I had wind damage and Chouinard came out to repair the blown off shinges for $150. On a Monday in April 2014, after what I would describe as a mild wind and rain storm (gusts up to 93 km/hour according to Environment Canada), the roof lost large sections of shingles and leaking ensued. Chouinard does not make after hours emergency so I had another company tarp and weather-proof it. I called Chouinard the next day and explained the extent of the damage and two days later (Thursday) someone came out late in the day. They did not bring enough shingles to patch the roof so they left leaving the roof as is. I asked if I would be rescheduled and he could not tell me. I called again the next day and was told it was my fault I did not inform them how many shingles were needed, though I am sure I did mention it to them. Besides, what was I supposed to do? Climb up and count? I was promised a call by the end of the day as it was now Friday, however, no call came. In total, I paid another company $750 do have the weather proofing and repair work done. I finally received a call from the manager the next week and she agreed to reimburse me $125. Most of the workers at Chouinard are sub-contractors and it is hard to speak to anyone who is willing to take ownership. My roof was still under warranty, and though it does not cover "wind" damage, I could easily say that my roof is one of the relatively newer ones on my street and I was on the only one to have any damage over that last few years. You can see the extent from the pictures.

Called this company because of previous work done in the past. Called in the fall, when the installer came all he had to do was lift the old and install the new self flashing ones for do it yourself installation, we had ordered. The job looked good until a few days later, it got very cold and windy and up on the ladder we found cold air coming in all around the skylights. Called the company and when a worker came weeks later, he said from the ladder he could see to the outside. He proceeded with the fix by placing a bead of outside grade black caulking all around. The house smelled toxic, had to open all the windows, by this time the weather was cold. We taped and insulated with vapour barrier and you could still smell the stuff. We had no snow or frost around the skylights.They finally came again the end of April, they were suppose to re-install properly, instead one guy inside removed the caulking and another outside with a CROWBAR lifted the bottom part of the skylights and only caulked that part. The skylights are screwed on to the roof !! This is what ruined the old ones in the first place and I told Linda that at the start of the first call. When we questioned why this other quick fix, when the manufacturer recommends TWO beads of caulking be placed down between flashing and roof all around the skylights, we were told that maybe they are not familiar with Colombia skylights AND did Chouinard approve these skylights? I called Linda twice while the workers were here on the Monday, the call was returned on Friday. We had nothing more to say to them at this point.They now have added interest to the invoice. We need to hire someone else to remove and re-install the skylights properly. We had heat loss all winter long, and this could have been fixed properly in the fall but, this company chose not to. Linda has definitely not been fair to us and they want interest?? How about doing a proper job in the first place ??!!

I would highly recommend this company and have done so with all my neighbours. I dealt with Krista and she was fabulous. Our whole street had shingles blow off the roof during a wind storm. We called several places from Homestars and waited a week before anyone would get back to us by phone let alone come out for a quote. We're still waiting to hear back from several companies! We finally got 2 quotes. Both told us that the whole roof would have to be replaced. Which was hard to hear since the house is only 7 years old. A friend recommended Chouinard. After making the call, Krista came out that afternoon while I was still at work! They were hugely busy following an ice storm, but she was in the area so she squeezed us in. She took every possible picture of my roof (which I wasn't expecting, as none of the others had done this) and gave me a quote by email immediately. We spoke later that evening - I never once heard "someone will get back to you" or "it takes a while to prepare a quote". Krista was great at explaining everything and was very experienced and knowledgeable with the insurance side of everything. The whole process was quick and painless and we're very happy with our roof now. We will definitely use these guys again for repairs and intend to use them when the whole roof DOES need to be replaced.

I used chouinard bros roofing many years ago and was very satisfied with their work. When i needed a new roof on the garage, i got a few quotes and was more than pleased with chouinard's price. In fact, many of the roofers listed here on homestars were much more expensive. The crew did a great job and the roof looks amazing. I used the shingle manufacturere's website to upload a photo of the garage and see what the shingles would look like--so there were no surprises. But, what was surprising was the raccoon that wandered into my garage the first week that the new roof was placed. It punched a hole in the roof trying to escape as the garage door had been closed and it was trapped. Chouinard bros came back and repaired the hole at no additional cost. They exceeded my expectations.

Ten years ago I had my roof done by Chouinard Bros. In January of 2013 while installing pot lights in my kitchen area I noticed a leak in my attic. I called Chouinard Bros and talked to Linda regarding the leak. Linda had a technician come out the same day, and he replaced the defective shingles. In October of 2013 while replacing my evastrophe I noticed that my most of my shingles curled and had lost that grainy texture. I contacted Linda of Choinard Bros to see about doing a warranty claim. They came out and took the necessary pictures and samples from my roof and got me a claim. In the time they had sent off my warranty claim (can take up to three months) I had them redo my roof. The estimator Krista was extremely knowledgeable. I strongly recommend that if any one decides to go with this company, that they call Krista. Her detail to customer Service is A+. Overall I was pleased with the roofing job but just a little disappointed with the flashing and cleanup work. Krista came out to insure me that the flashing around the chimney would be redone, which it was a week after. The tech’s who came out to redo the flashing (Ben and Adam) did a great job. I would like to thank Krista, Linda, Ben and Adam for a job well done and yes I would recommend Chouinard Bros.
