Used a previous company for 3 years for opening/closing but called too late this year. Called Backyard...said they could do it.
Cleaned the pool...barely...left leaves all over the place.
Biggest issue...said the heater was working fine, could switch it on whenever we wanted to. Weather started warming up, switched it on a few weeks later and it wasn't working - got an IF notice which means "Ignition Failure".
Went back to Backyard and they said to call a gas company as they were too busy.
Gas company comes....takes one screw off and turns the knob and pool heater is on.
Called the company while the gas guy was there and told them what happened. Said it took 10 seconds and cost $145...they said ;
1) I should have recvd an email confirming the service and what's included....told them NO email was recvd. Then they said
2) they would have said on the phone that they are not responsible for heaters (?!)....no one said that on the phone...they just took the booking and my credit card details.
3) Then said it is not their responsibility to switch on pilot lights or do anything gas related
Backyard guys clearly said the heater is fine and working and no one ever told me at anytime they effectively don't "switch on heaters". It is OBVIOUS they didn't check the heater...they just had to press a button and the IF light would have come on! They didn't do that!
Customer service is terrible - effectively not taking any responsibility at all and almost arguing with me that somehow this is my fault.
TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. Don't recommend at all.
