They opened our pool, for the 15th time, and they left a mess. Pump barely worked, filter drain leaked heavily; forgot to open main drain; put salt cell on so tight I can't get it off to clean. MY PROBLEM; go buy a tool.

Do not return voice mail! Gouged me on a flow switch that should have cost $40 and I paid $150 for the part. Closed my pool and sent two moonlighting firemen who claimed the track for the pool cover was installed upside down. They didn't know how to install the cover. Backyard customer service standard does not rise to the expectation. Do not use them!!! They have a technician (James) who is a great asset but he's not an asset if you can't them to return your voice messages to schedule him. They have lost my business - even for chemicals.

Used a previous company for 3 years for opening/closing but called too late this year. Called Backyard...said they could do it.

Cleaned the pool...barely...left leaves all over the place.

Biggest issue...said the heater was working fine, could switch it on whenever we wanted to. Weather started warming up, switched it on a few weeks later and it wasn't working - got an IF notice which means "Ignition Failure".

Went back to Backyard and they said to call a gas company as they were too busy.

Gas company comes....takes one screw off and turns the knob and pool heater is on.

Called the company while the gas guy was there and told them what happened. Said it took 10 seconds and cost $145...they said ;
1) I should have recvd an email confirming the service and what's included....told them NO email was recvd. Then they said
2) they would have said on the phone that they are not responsible for heaters (?!)....no one said that on the phone...they just took the booking and my credit card details.
3) Then said it is not their responsibility to switch on pilot lights or do anything gas related

Backyard guys clearly said the heater is fine and working and no one ever told me at anytime they effectively don't "switch on heaters". It is OBVIOUS they didn't check the heater...they just had to press a button and the IF light would have come on! They didn't do that!

Customer service is terrible - effectively not taking any responsibility at all and almost arguing with me that somehow this is my fault.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. Don't recommend at all.

Opened pool - didn’t clean or service properly. Had to have another pool company come in and deal with what we paid them to do.

Broke pavers and took 3 months for repair.

Ensured closing on a specific date and failed to close for three weeks after scheduled date.

BEWARE! With all the competitors out there in the pool service, do your due diligence and use someone else!

Excellent service at a very reasonable price. Staff is very courteous and extremely helpful. They will go an extra mile to finish job in best possible way.Happy to work with Don and all team members of Back Yard Pool.

Backyard Pool and Spa in Aurora has been the worst company I have ever worked with. There are 20 service men (boys) that don't have a clue what they are doing. Rush service if you can get them to your house first. Not organised, not professional, not on time and almost always a rush job or show up late. They did some work on our pool that should have taken 2 or 3 days to complet 4 weeks and it still was not finished. I would not use or recommend this company to any one.

Had Don and his company install the largest above ground pool available. They were great to work with and gave excellent advice. They kept the work area very clean. We encountered no "hidden" costs and all set out initially for us.
