Asked for a quote to redo our shingles and flat roof on house. We have a large house in a very nice neighborhood. The quote came back at $125000. I couldnt believe it. Sent a message back to company that I recalled paying $35000 to do the roof about 20 years ago. A revised quote came back at $57,000. I didnt respond and went to another company for a quote. The price from the other company was $37000 which I have agreed to. Clearly, the quote from Avenue Rd Roofing was based on where we live and not on the actual cost of the job involved. A very poor experience with this company.

Unfortunately, this review provides little information and comments are of a general nature; making it difficult to provide a specific reply to this writer’s accusations/expressed concern pertaining to the free estimates we apparently provided.
As this forum, we understand; is open to people who have actually had work completed; and is discussing estimates supplied; the assumption is we must have done work for the person twenty years ago. They must have been satisfied enough to reach out to us after twenty years.
Based on the comments supplied; the writer insinuates that pricing supplied was based on where they live and as a result feel they are somehow being taken advantage of? Factually; our estimates are calculated based on our software program used by our team of estimators. The program calculates based on area quantities in-putted, and material quantities required. The project is further calculated based on a specific scope of work. As an example: a cedar installation, a slate installation , a composite shingle installation, etc. The pricing therefore cannot be manipulated by the estimator regardless of area.
Where large projects are concerned, we utilize aerial imagery so we can calculate quantities as accurately as possible, before inputting cost calculations.
Our objective is to win business by pricing the project correctly in order to deliver a project to a high standard and to meet client expectations.
Further to note is that labour and material prices have risen dramatically over twenty years. We would not remain in business for over forty-five years if our pricing was not fair, and our work of a quality nature.
We invite this person(s) to contact us and we are pleased to demonstrate why the two estimates we supplied are different (likely different products and or solutions). We hope that the low price solution they discuss will provide for their requirements over the long term, and that reliability ,warranty, and solvency of the business for their chosen service provider proves to be reflected in the value they will receive in time.
Where lowest price may be the paramount criteria; seldom if ever, would our company be able to meet that. If the criteria is quality and value; our company can still be found after twenty years, and well into the future.
Best of luck
