I own and manage commercial property in Victoria, BC.

In 2011 I became involved in assisting my son selling a house in Surrey, BC. The reason I became involved is because the house suffered from deficiencies that would inhibit the sale of the house. One of the major deficiencies was the house roof venting system was not designed to effectively remove moisture from the area between the ceiling and the roof which resulted in an environmental problem. In addition there were other deficiencies in the house that needed to be addressed.
As the roof ventilation was a major concern, through a reference, I contacted Abney Roofing and sent over the building reports. I received a phone call from the owner to discuss, and agree upon, the scope of work and approach. During the discussion the owner provided a number of excellent ideas which were utilized in the repairs. His employees showed up at the times they stated they would arrive, undertook the work as indicated and if there were any unusual circumstances/problems I was contacted, presented with suggested solution(s) and a course of action was agreed upon.
The job, like a number of jobs of this type are, was difficult however they completed it to an excellent standard at a reasonable price.
I learned through the first job that the company name "Abney Roofing" does not accurately indicate the scope of services available. Abney Roofing can undertake almost any type of construction project as they have, either on staff, or through their subcontractors, ticketed journeymen/women licensed to carry out most renovation/construction jobs.

In 2016 my wife and I purchased a house in Surrey. The house required some renovations. Based on my previous experience in the Surrey market I contacted Abney Roofing. They priced the job , presented the quote and we engaged them to undertake the work. Again, similar to our first job with them, the owner provided a number of excellent ideas which were utilized in the renovations. The job was managed by one of their superintendents, Willem who did an excellent job. His sub-contractors showed up at the times they stated they would arrive, or if unable to arrive on time, would contact us in advance and advise of the change and reschedule , undertook the work and if there were any unusual circumstances/problems I was contacted, presented with suggested solution(s) and a course of action was agreed upon.
This job, like a number of minor renovation jobs of this type, required scheduling of various crews (painting, carpet, electrical, etc.) , however again they completed the job to an excellent standard, within scope, schedule and budget. Of note, the workers were particularly cognizant of keeping the mess contained within the work area.

We have had one callback - a new baseboard electrical heater failed in this cold winter of January 2017. I emailed Abney Roofing's Office at 10:00 am and the electrician arrived at the house at approximately 2:00 pm (the same day, during a bitter cold snap !!!), and replaced the defective thermostat.

Service as provided by Abney Roofing, in each occasion we have used them, is very hard to find. We would have no hesitation in recommending them for any type of construction job they state they can handle.

I've had them come twice to my house for different work this year and each time they were fast and efficient getting the work done. In the next few years I will have to replace my roof and they will be the company that I call.

The first time I used Abney roofing they came out to do a repair on an urgent basis in the pouring rain when no one else would. They did a great job so I had them come back and replace the roof when it became necessary. I think their pricing is fair and they were very careful with regards to not leaving debris on the driveway or patio. I am now having them do routine maintenance on the roof of different house.

I have used Abbey for 2 roofs in our current house & because of their quality work & pricing I don't bother with quotes from other companies.

Professionally done, attention to detail, pre and post evaluation including visual aids online, and cleanup. Most appreciated was the quick fix once the leak was discovered.

Mike came around 6pm and repaired my roof till it was almost dark. He was able to come in 1 day even though it was so busy due to the storm. He showed me why the existing shingles blew off due to poor workmanship.

This was the 2nd time I used this company after 20yrs to replace my roof but this time I also needed gables and gutters.
It was nice to have one company be able to do all the required work and get one quote for the total installation.
Bryan the inspector suggested more roof attic vents which I appreciated.
Any questions and concerns I had were answered.
The roofing and gutter installer crews were very efficient and professional.
At the end of the work day all traces of fallen residue was cleanup.
I am very satisfied with the final installed result and the products used.
I have no hesitation in recommending Abney to anyone needing a quality roofing company.

They were very prompt putting roof on....Had other estimates but they were the only one that offered a written contract not ball park figure....copy of insurance etc Work was done even through heavy rain and blistering heat good work I feel I got what I paid for
