Reliable Dryer Vent

Very impressed with this company starting from the first phone call. They explained their services completely and accurately. They set up a timely appointment (the same week that I called). They recommended solutions to a couple of problems with our fireplace. Highly recommend.

I was extremely impressed with Magic Touch Chimney Sweeps. From the moment I called their office to schedule an appointment, to when Adam the technician greeted me, they were a first-class operation.

Marc came to the condominium suite and gave a very reasonable price after he evaluated the relocation job I needed. The technician that came was right on time and very couteous. He worked quickly and did not make a mess. We required another appointment which was made right away and was scheduled for the very next day. We were very pleased with this company.

Courteous on the phone while explaining my problem (smoke coming out of basement fireplace while main floor fireplace was being used). A technician was sent out to inspect and clean if necessary. The technician showed up on time and explained that why the problem was occurring (smoking going up one chimney, then coming down the other one because of suction effect of air draw from furnace). Anyway, the tech proceeded to clean both chimneys, taking good care not to get dirt on the living room and basement carpets. He was friendly, helpful and professional; he showed me how to warm the flue and build the fire. Would definitely recommend Magic Touch to others.

I had just bought my home. The previous owner had left lots of firewood in the basement, but to look at the inside of the fireplace, you could tell that it had never been used - which I found odd for a 20 year old home. The fire-bricks and mortar were still white. I tried lighting a fire. It worked well for about 15 minutes and then the smoke backed up into the house. I thought that I should have it inspected.
I called Magic Touch and they were able to send one of their guys out on short notice. The woman on the phone was very courteous and accommodating. When their technician showed up, he was very polite and friendly. He explained every step of the job to me. It was raining outside, so he swept the chimney from the inside. He pushed his brush up the chimney from the fireplace opening, adding 5-foot sections at a time. He said that it was very dirty because the brush wasn't travelling very well, yet, I didn't see any soot or debris come down. He pushed until he couldn't move it anymore and said that he felt his brush hit the chimney cap. I watched him pull out 20 feet of brush (my chimney looks to be about 25 to 30 feet from the fireplace to the cap). I gave him the benefit of the doubt and he assured me that he could see all the way up to the top where there was light was coming in.
I tried lighting a fire after he left and it was worse than ever. None of the smoke was passing through them chimney. I called them back. Again, the woman on the phone was very accommodating, professional and apologetic. They sent another technician over the next day. He actually went on the roof and found that the previous owner had wrapped fine window screen material around the cap to keep out pests. It was clogged with ashes.
The fireplace works great now, but I feel that they should have been more thorough, especially for the dangers involved (fire, smoke, carbon monoxide, etc). No harm done though.
As for price, I found them very reasonable. It's not an easy job to do, very dirty, and it was done for only $135.
I would still recommend them, problems aside, just because of their courteous service.

Once again, Magic Touch came to our rescue. Dryer lint was beginning to build around our existing dryer vent which was broken and had chicken wire around it. My wife learned that Magic Touch not only did fireplaces but ventilation too. I called Fred back to the house and he not only replaced the broken vent with a nice new one but vacuumed out the back of the dryer and the vent pipe. He showed up promptly at the scheduled time and we don't find them all that expensive. Thank you, Fred and Magic Touch!

My wife and I had insects coming out of our fireplace in the basement throughout the winter.

I called Magic Touch. The guy came and was very clean, putting dropclothes in front of the fireplace and proceeded to vacuum it out. He went up to the roof and swept the chimney clean.

We optionally decided to install a new chimney cover which closes off the top of it soundly not allowing drafts, pests, insects etc. from coming in.

So far so good...no insects.

Fred from A Magic Touch came to inspect and clean my fireplace. Wow, what great service. Very courteous, explained what he was doing, was very clean and quick. Would definately recommend them and will use them next time my fireplace / chimney needs cleaning.

The sweep did a thorough job even placing a tarp down to avoid getting dirt on our carpet! And friendly with the kids watching his work, explaining his tools and truck.
