Glass Dinner Table

BEWARE of this store!!! My experience so far has been nothing but unpleasant.

I purchased a glass dinner table from this store in April and after a delay in delivery, received a defective product (when put together, one leg was different in angle). With not much resistance, they agreed to replace it. However, the other table, once delivered, was severely scratched. This is when I decided to return the product all together. The personnel there was extremely rude, and confrontational. The manager (Kim) refused to stand behind the quality of her products and was clearly indifferent about general satisfaction of her customers. After numerous phone calls and days of negotiations, she finally agreed to issue the refund. Although the table was picked up by them sometimes in early May, I am still waiting for them to give me my money back ($683.99). It's been a couple of months and so far they've given me every excuse in the book as to why this is still pending. How is it that this store is still in business?

I will never shop here again!

Bedroom Set

My husband and I had the WORST experience with Marni. She actually told us that a bedroom set was one price when we put a deposit on it then when we came to pay the remaining balance (2 days later) she gave us a different price! Its our fault for not have had her write the quote down. definatley have her give you everyting in writing.

When we asked her to have the set delivered to us it took a week longer than she had said it would take and when we told her we had nothing to sleep on because we were expecting the delivery on time and had sold our old set she told us to "go to a hotel"! Outrageous!

Also, the furniture is the worst quality! The drawers to the armoire we purchased did not fit even after she claimed to have had them "fixed". When we told her that upon delivery they were still not fitting properly she said she would have the people who had "fixed" them come by and fix them the next day at 5.00 pm. Nobody showed up and nobody called to tell us they were not showing up. Very unprofessional. All our clothing is lying on the ground in our bedroon since we can not fit it in our Armoire since our Armoire drawers do not close the way they should. when we tried calling her and left her several messages she did not return our calls.

WORST SERVICE POOR QUALITY furniture.

The bedroom set this customer purchased was infact a floor model and was sold "as is". The prices were clearly marked on the bedroom set and on the armoire this customer purchased as they were Clearance Items. Marely still had the armoire touched up before the delivery as an added service for this client at no extra charge.
The customer purchased this set and requested that the delivery be held off for a few weeks which we did. They requested delivery last week Thursday and were called a week before to confirm. The customer paid their balance, two days before delivery and then stated they wanted the delivery to take place on the Tuesday instead. That day was booked solid so we delivered it on the Wednesday, which was still a day before the originally requested date. When the delivery guys brought the furniture to the customers home they were instructed to leave it on the main floor. The customer transported the items themselves to the bedroom which "may" have caused damage to the armoire. We did not argue with the customer when their daughter called, we only asked that she look at it in person. (She was at another location and was told what was wrong with it)
After speaking to her later that same evening Marely agreed to have a repair person visit their home. When items are purchased as floor models, this is not required but Marely did so to make the customer happy.
If the repair person did not show up I will follow up with them on Tuesday to find out the situation and I will get back to the customer.

bedroom reno

My wife and I had purchased furniture in 2005 from 4 u furniture initially from the home show. Henry and Marni were super sales people and very convincing. We ended up ordering a bedroom set in addition to other bedroom furniture. Bottom line is we did not receive our bed and side tables which were promised to us and we waited over one year for it, so now we have bedroom furniture with a bed and side tables (from a different company) which don't match. It was frustrating to say the least. I received every excuse in the book. You want great service go to 'The Bali Collection' Now that's service.

I am sorry to learn about the customer from Newmarket's experience, although no name was attached so I can not comment on any details. I know in the past while importing from Indonesia some logistical issues surrounded importing from the Tsunami, to shipping delays. We no longer import bedroom furniture from that region as a result of the frustration it caused to our customers and us. I am not sure which bed the customer purchased and which end tables they required so I can not help their situation. The majority of our items are now in stock items so that major delays are no longer an issue. I do apologize for any inconveience this may have caused the customer from Newmarket.

Bedroom and Kitchen Sets

As has been posted by others, our experience has been horrible and frustrating. We purchased a Bedroom set and a kitchen table, which they took the payment for upfront. They were gracious enough to store our goods until we needed them, but then were unable to deliver due to "their warehouse not being open over the holidays", a fact they were unaware of and which we needed to call several times to confirm. Kim did return our call (once). We went in another time and ordered kitchen chairs and asked they be delivered with our other stuff (again paying full price upfront). We were told Kim will contact you about the delivery. We had to call her several times over a 3day period to finally get her on the phone. We took delivery. The delivery guys were unable to lift all the goods and required my fiance to help them. Upon inspection, the headboard to our bed had a defect in the leather and the kitchen chairs were the wrong colour and model. We called and spoke to Kim who said she would correct the situation and get back to us within the week. It has now been a week and a half and not only has Kim not called us, but we called her after a week, been told she would call us back and it has now been three days and still no word from her. We are one day away from printing out all these postings, going into the store and demanding our money back.

bedroom set

I am very unhappy with 4u furniture (at centerpoint mall) we bought a bed set, and we needed to store it until we moved, so they graciously offered to hold it for us. Granted it took much longer than we anticipated to move, but when we were ready for delivery of the bed set, we had to try for months to get them to deliver then they told us it would cost an additional $100 cash upon delivery!! - (which we reluctantly had ready to hand over).So the big day finally came, we were told the delivery window was between 11am and 3pm, and I was there myself waiting for the truck to arrive. Noon came and went, 1pm, 2pm,2:30pm, and then at 2:45- only 15 minutes left in the "window" - I get a phone call from Kim saying that there was an "accident" while loading my bed in the truck, apparently, the men "dropped" it, and had "cracked the headboard", so needless to say I would not be getting my bed again today!. She went on to tell me that they were going to "search the warehouse" to see if they had a "replacement headboard" laying around somewhere, and she would call back to let me know. So I waited, and waited,-after a few weeks passed I called the store and asked what was going on, I was told by Marnie (I think is her name) that they were still looking, and it was a large warehouse, so it would take about one more week to search, and that Kim would call me by the end of the next week. So when the next week came and went with no phone call from Kim, I began calling them.

After trying several times and not getting through to anyone, I finally got Marnie on the phone, and she just kept telling me that "Kim is the one who is taking care of the situation" and she would "have her call me", but she never did, so after being put off for another few weeks, going back and forth, with me calling and getting the same answer: "Kim is not in now call after 2pm" and then I do call after 2 and Kim is never there or "shes late today" or "i expect her within half an hour" or "shes not here yet- but you can keep calling to check" every time I call! So, three weeks after all that, finally I get Marnie on the phone and ask her to bottom line this for me- what is she going to do? well, a refund was out of the question because it had gone on too long, so we agreed that we would come down and pick out another bed set. So we go and when we get there she is so super friendly and extra nice to us, so i thought this may end ok after all, and we picked out another set (beautiful by the way) and she sold us a $200 comforter set, and a $60 delivery fee this time. The total was close to $1500 (in addition to the $1000 store credit we had) and it was paid in full on the credit card that day.She told us we could expect delivery next week (the week before Christmas). We left the store happy. Then the next week came and went, I left a message after calling a few times and not getting anyone, asking when are we going to get the bed?? of course no one responded

and then it was christmas, so there is another week gone, and then my Dad tried calling, and finally got an answer on the phone and it was Marnie, she was very apologetic and told him that they were "so busy over christmas" and our order for delivery just "slipped through the cracks" and she would (again) "have Kim call back with a date for delivery" -well, that was on friday (29th of dec 06) and guess what?- Kim never called!! I called back again yesterday (jan2/07) and I got Marnie on the phone, and I asked for Kim (it was after 2pm!) and funny thing, Kim was not there! I tried again around 3:45- 4:15pm and again I got Marnie saying "Kim's not here, but i'll tell her to call you"(she didnt). Right now, today Jan3/07 2:25pm, I just called again, and Marnie answered the phone, I asked for Kim, she said "Kim's not here, can i take a message?" I said yes, told her who I was (she knows my name all too well!) and said I'm STILL waiting for delivery! so she assured me that "as soon as Kim sets foot in the door" she will "have her call me" -ha, we'll see, but you know the thing that I'm really offended by? -I am the customer, I paid in full, I'm the one being given the run-around, and yet SHE sounds SO annoyed everytime I call her!! Hello!! Deliver my bed and we will be done with eachother!!- but she keeps stalling, I'm beginning to wonder if they are just scamming my money with no intention of delivering what I paid for!?? Whats going on here people? the saga continues

the saga has continued as follows: after alot of back and forth between myself and marnie/kim, we finally had a delivery date set -jan 9th, then, as the day came closer, i started getting calls stating that they were loading the truck, and realized that they did not have the queen set that we ordered, but to save more hassle and aggravation they would give us the king size frame at no extra charge, i thought this was a very nice thing to do on their part, until we realized my dad doesn't have a king mattress!(or any need or room for a king size bed!), so marnie offered to sell him a king size mattress for another $1000!! oh, and don't forget we also paid for a queen duvet/pillow set- so are they going to give us the king size instead or try to get more money out of us for that too?? so my dad called and said that he has no need for a king bed, and he wants the queen set he originally ordered or cancel the whole thing, well, they decided to give him the mattress, if he'll take the king because they didn't have the queen, so he took it, and it was (finally) delivered on thurs. jan11(at 9pm!) so now, we are waiting to see if we will ever receive this mattress as promised, and to find out about the queen size duvet set, cuz that was not delivered yet either, so thats it for now, i'll keep you all posted.

Bedroom Furniture

They sell handcrafted antique replica furniture pieces at very reasonable prices. We weren't overall pleased with the service, though the staff are pleasant. Unless you are satisfied with purchasing their floor models, I wouldn't recommend ordering furniture not in stock. We waited over five months to receive our bedroom suite and finally cancelled our order because we didn't want to wait any longer.

We offer a mix of Antique reproductions and contemporary to modern furniture. However, when ordering reproductions if they are not in stock they can take from 6 weeks to 5-6 months. It is a long stretch at times I agree. It does come from the other side of the world and between CNN strikes and the time it takes to construct these items unfortunatley patience is sometimes required. I'm glad Donna liked the furniture, but sorry that I can't do anything about the wait. Remember good things come to those who wait.
