Initially quoted an estimate for carpet, pad, installation, disposal of old carpet – an all inclusive quote. No details were broken out by each of these cost areas. The final cost came in at nearly 50% more than the initial estimate. After a great deal of frustrating conversation seeking details, we asked to speak to the store manager. When Jerry Vialpando called back, he only said that the measurements were different and the cost was higher. The measurements we made were correct and I could accept if there were additions due to carpet widths, etc. but NOT 50% increase on a 12% increase on square footage. Then the manager offered another price that was about 30% higher than the initial quote. I expressed my opinion that they have done a “bait and switch” to get my down payment and then try to sucker me into significantly higher cost. In declining to do business with such an operation, I still have not received my 50% down payment back and I’ve incurred the cost of the measurement even if I were to get my 50% down payment back.
Repeated calls to the district manager have been not returned.
