Turns out there's a minimum $75 "dispatch fee" that is not mentioned anywhere on his website. It can't cost $75 to dispatch a guy with an ancient Ford Ranger(?) either. It would've been cheaper to have had Lowe's install it.
This fee wasn't mentioned to me when I *thought* I had a related leak a few months later. That whopping 10 min. trip cost me an additional $75 (and this was the third time using his services). Despite expressing my intense displeasure of feeling ripped off by the last trip - he stuck with the price. It was the last time I used him and will not use him again.

- Tell the customer there's a MINIMUM charge - if I'd known I'd have had other "chores" around the house performed. The first time I used his service I got a broad estimate. I get the feeling he doesn't want to quote prices - so be prepared for sticker shock
- Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
- If you can't get a fairly accurate price estimate, there's probably a good reason. Ask if there's a minimum charge as well.
