S&S Cleaning

I booked a deep-cleaning service after an initial phone conversation with Sophie. Unfortunately, the results did not meet my expectations. However, Sophie has since tried to make it right.

The Positives:
+ Sophie was very quick to communicate. She called me and gave me a thorough run-down of S&S Cleaning's "Deep Clean" service, and then followed up very quickly with an e-mail that confirmed what we had spoken about. She also provided a price of $45 per cleaner per hour for 2.5-3 hours, for a total of $225-$270.

+ She was very responsive to texts in the days leading up to the clean, and when I asked if we needed to do anything prior to the cleaners arriving, she said "they will do everything top top bottom!" Based on my interactions with Sophie, I felt confident it was going to be a good experience.

+ The ladies did a good job cleaning the bathroom shower, sinks, and bathtub. The floors appear to have been cleaned well too, as were most surfaces.

+They cleaned the inside of the fridge.

The Negatives:
- When the cleaning crew arrived, they seemed unsure when I said "deep clean" and that it was supposed to take 2.5-3 hours. The job ended up taking them 4 hours.

- They asked whether they were supposed to clean the insides of cabinets (which Sophie assured me they would), and when I said yes, they said it would take extra time. I contacted Sophie immediately, and she told me that if I wanted the cabinets cleaned inside, I should have taken out all the dishes. I could have done this, but since I asked if I needed to do anything prior to the cleaning and Sophie said no, I did not.

- There were several things Sophie explained were part of the deep cleaning service which were not completed

The cleaners were pleasant enough, but it was clear they felt rushed to get to their next job, and unfortunately, based on what Sophie assured me I'd be getting with a deep clean, the service from S&S did not live up to the description.

I have shared these concerns with Sophie directly, and she has done her best to make the situation right, which I appreciate.

The cleaners were through and professional. The house sparkled after they had finished! We'll definitely have them back.

Sophie was very helpful when I needed a last minute cleaning. She contacted me on short notice and sent out a crew. They did a very good job. Sophie was easy to deal with and reliable.

Sophie was awesome with communication and worked with my tight deadline. Tsira who cleaned my unit was on time and did an amazing job. I'm very happy with this service.

Preparing my home for sale, it needed a deep clean. I posted my requirement here on HomeStars and received four responses. S and S was quick to respond and diligent in follow up communications. The list of items they'd cover was detailed (and felt a little like over promising), but their price was in-line with the other quotes so they won based on good communication.

The ladies arrived within the specified time frame, did a tour of the house to assess things and set to work. They were impressively thorough and I am very satisfied with the finished results.

We reached out to S&S Cleaning for help with a deep clean of our semi-detached house, which was looking a little dusty, dour and dog-fur-filled after a few busy pandemic/post-lockdown years. Sophie responded almost immediately with helpful and detailed information about their services and costing. We got an appointment shortly thereafter -- and they did an absolutely wonderful job. We had forgotten how shiny our kitchen and bathrooms could be! Their responsive communication and professionalism made for a smooth and painless process throughout. Apartment was sparkling clean. We hired S&S Cleaning to deep clean our empty apartment after we moved out / before we handed our keys back. They deep cleaned every surface, appliance, windows inside and out. Excellent work
