Elite Concrete

I was a skeptic when I read all the rave reviews on HomeStar for Elite. I thought to myself, are these reviews for real? I don't believe any contractor would get such reviews especially when we've heard of horror stories from friends and neighbours of their bad experiences with contractors. My husband convinced me to call them and check them out. Boy am I glad I listened to him -- it was an exceptional experience we had and it was a pleasure working with them.

We had contacted Elite around midnight via email and the next morning we received a call from Raffy, scheduled a meeting right away to go over our plans. Measurements and an estimate was given right away. There was no pressure from them. After Raffy gave us an estimate and some referrals, he left us to do our research and when we were ready, we contacted them. While we did our research, checked out their reference, we decided to call other contractors to get some price comparison (even though we had already decided to use Elite), other contractors didn't even bother returning our calls.

We awarded the project to Elite and the project was set to begin by end of July. However, there was so much rain, we received a letter from Elite apologizing for the delay due to bad weather that they are behind schedule. This reassured us that they didn't walk away with our deposit and put us at ease that we can trust them and that they haven't forgotten about us. When the weather improved and they were caught up with their jobs, Marcello came by to talk to us about our plans. He told us straight out what's good and what wasn't and asked very relevant questions. He started to draw outlines of our plan for us to visualize what it would look like and scale of our design from paper to actual size. A couple of days later, they excavated, formed and poured cement. While they were working on our property, they covered and protected our neighbour's side of the house -- not a spec of cement even dripped on our neighbour's interlock walkway and they always left the site nice and tidy. There was a separate team for each part of the job, and they were all polite and courteous. They even fixed up some ugliness left over from our builder without asking for a penny!!!!

When the cement was ready to cut (we chose to do the limestone finish), we couldn't come up with a design/pattern, Marcello came up with a great cut design, we love it and everyone in the neighbourhood loves it.

Final step is for Raffy to come for a final inspection and seal. I must say, the limestone finish is a great look and is not slippery, even my neighbours noticed when they dropped by to see the work -- they were all very impressed and they've not seen anything like it before.

Job well done Elite. It was a pleasure working with you and thank you all for being so accommodating. I would highly recommend Elite to any one as a matter of fact, we've recommended them to a few of our friends who are looking into getting cement work done for their driveways.
