Panel Upgrade and New Light Switch
A review for Major Mack Electrical Contracting Inc.
When I purchased a house last fall, the home inspector strongly suggested that i upgrade the electrical panel and all the switches and outlets in the home. Basing my decision on the various companies reviewed here at HS, I contacted Major Mack Electrical on May 26/10. During our discussion, Charles explained to me the cost & process of moving from 125 amp to 200 amp and then made arrangements with Hydro One Brampton to have the electricity switched off. The job was done on June 8/10 by Charles and his assistant Usabal(sp). The ESA inspector passed the upgrade and I have since received the ESA's Certificate of Inspection. In addition to the panel upgrade, I had a bathroom light/fan switch reoriented from the upstairs landing (a 70's design feature i'm guessing) to inside the actual bathroom. The other outlets and switches will have to wait for a future time when I can afford to do them. The only glitch I encountered was the amperage for the water heater. For some reason the circuit breaker would trip after about 10 mins. However, Charles returned within days and fixed that problem. Overall, I am very pleased and impressed with the results and the follow up service. Please take a look at the pics I have posted. I certainly recommend Major Mack Electrical.

A review for DVC Aluminum
DVC Aluminum replaced the eavestrough and downspouts on my home last month because the former ones were leaking in different parts. I contacted Vedran on a Friday and he came out the following Tuesday to give me an estimate at the time he said he would be at my house. I had gotten a previous estimate, but that company had a difficult time scheduling the work for some reason. Anyways the price quoted by DVC Aluminum seemed reasonable to me and Vedran returned the following Monday and did the job. Again he was on time, professional, answering any questions I had, and neat with his handiwork. He cleared away the debris left from the renovation. Also he stuck with his original quoted fee, so there were no surprises for me. As any one in the GTA knows, this June and July there have been a number of days with heavy rainfall. I am glad the new replacements are functioning well and I am satisfied that I have received good service. Please take a look at the pics I have included with this post. I have eight pics, but HS will only allow for five. I recommend calling DVC Aluminum.

A review for Lawncare & Handyman 24 Seven
I first contacted Frank last fall after I purchased my home. The lawn had not been mowed in weeks and poor quality grass and weeds had taken over both the front and back yards. I phoned Frank in the morning asking if he was available sometime during the week. Well he came out that very evening and to my surprise cut the grass, removed some of the weeds, and put it all tidily in yard waste bags left at the edge of the front lawn ready for waste collection. He did the same again this past Tuesday. Although I am not in his client service area, I would certainly recommend him to anyone living in Mississauga who needs lawn trimming work done.

A review for Canada Wide Plumbing & Mechanical Services Inc.
On Jan. 21 I noticed the hot water tank was leaking. Having purused Homestars.com before, I returned to this site in search of a plumbing service. Based on the consistency of positive reviews from the past few years to the present time, I decided to call Canada Wide Plumbing. Flavio came out the next morning. From the moment of my initial contact with Flavio to the completion of the job, communication between us went well. He took the time to explain what could be done to control the leakage and made sure I understood. As an added bonus for me, Flavio and his assistant Matt located the power source to my Hot Water Tank. Not an easy task as it is an old fuse box panel and I, the recent homeowner, had not a clue as to where it was (I do now thanks). Most impressive of all to me was when the work was pretty much complete, and the water turned back on, Flavio noticed some dripping water coming from the valves he had attached. Not satisfied, he asked Matt to disassemble the valve/fitting while he returned the faulty parts to the store. He told me that the parts had recently been purchased and that the store needed to know that it had defective valves on sale to the public, and that this was not acceptable. Soon after, Flavio returned and re-did the job with the replacement valves. Although pressed for time with other appointments, he made clear to me what I needed to do in order to prevent flooding of the basement until another hot water tank is installed. It has been over two weeks and so far so good. I definitely recommend Canada Wide Plumbing & Mechanical Services Inc. and will certainly call on them again when i install my new water tank heater. thanks Flavio & Matt.
