A review for The Steelworks

James was recommended by a friend and after meeting him, we knew he was the right fit for us. He is an excellent craftsman who takes pride in his work (unfortunately, we can't say this for most of our trades). We came across some challenges with our home inspection and James tackled them without delay. He came up with solutions that didn't compromise the design of our stairs. The installation took longer than all of us expected (because the glass for our stairs was delayed, not James' fault) but in the end - the stairs look great and we're very happy with the end result.

I've used Flavio before and have recommended him to friends. So when we had a problem with the drains in our new house, we knew who to call! He is professional, knowledgeable, has the right tools and is such a nice guy! Other contractors were happy enough to tell us that the water was coming from the foundation and it would cost us $15,000 to repair. Flavio took the time to find out what the problem was and saved us from spending lots of money on a fix that wouldn't have solved the problem!

We are planning a massive renovation - tear down our existing house and rebuild everything new. We found Reiner on Homestars after speaking with a number of design/build firms and contractors, and we're so glad we did. From his pool of resources, we have used an architect and an interior designer who have saved us lots of money and definitely have the right skills for the job. Because of his previous experience as a contractor, he keeps other contractors honest and protects homeowners from being overcharged. On top of that, Reiner has guided us through the maze of dealing with the city for permits and working with our neighbours to get their support. We have no doubt that we've made the best decision by having Reiner on board. We can't imagine taking on this renovation without him!

Our bathtub drain was plugged and Flavio came by the same day, fitting us in during the evening because he was completely booked during the day! He found illegal plumbing connections and really old pipes that will eventually need to be replaced in the near future. He did a wonderful job fixing our plumbing - very friendly, professional, and thorough. We really appreciated that he made the time to come by for such a small job in comparison to what he already had in his calendar. This is the second time that I've used Flavio for emergency plumbing problems and he doesn't disappoint. I will absolutely use him again!
