Kitchen Faucet Installation

A review for Royal Flush Plumbing & Renovations

Mar 15, 2013

All we wanted was to replace the faucet. He ended up removing our undermount sink because the nut holding the faucet was stuck. After he was done, not only was there a leak in the piping under the sink but he had done a bad job putting back the undermount sink (not centred so that the custom fit strainer wasn't fitting anymore and the silicone was all over the place and looked incredibly ugly). We called him back, he fixed the leak and re-installed the sink. Result: there was another leak elsewhere and the silicone still looks horrible all around the sink. My other beef: he destroyed my kitchen mat using it as his cushion instead of moving it out of the way. I wish I could get my money back because we finally had to call a different plumber who ended up re-doing ALL of the plumbing under the sink because it was wrong (1. it was still leaking but also 2. the dishwasher hose although elevated, where it connects into the drain it is directing water towards the second sink bowl instead of directly towards the drain). I've also since learned that you should not let a plumber install an undermount sink - this is countertop people's jobs, they know how to properly affix it to the granite countertop with the best glue/silicone and how to clean off the silicone from your sink and counter with special product after it is affixed). Anyhow, buyer beware depending on the job you need done. I have given a couple points because he was on time, and did come back a second time but we just didn't feel comfortable having him back a third time to fix it again.

Company Response:

I am very sorry you did not have a great experience with my company. As you knew the bowl had to be removed and it was done after we discussed the issue together. The nut holding the sink was so tight that even after the bowl was removed we still couldn't get it off. As you knew I was completly unaware of the strainer and came back and put it back in for free. As far as everything being wrong The kitchen sink was initially installed without a vent and I did inform you of this but to comment on what the other plumber told you, the dishwasher should always be installed up and that is so when the pump in the dishwasher shuts off the water doesn't run back and sit at the bottom of the dishwasher here is a link further explaining the issue http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100225033838AAq46IT I'm very sorry you were not happy with my service but I really wish you would at least rate me fairly. I was on time my price was very fair, I came back and made sure you strainer worked at no charge. I'm sure that someone who only installs undermount sinks could have the caulking around the sink a little cleaner then the way I did it but you have to factor in the job would have costed double. I give all my customers a one year warranty on all work done and if there were further issues you should have called me, as discussed before I left I couldn't test the sink untill the glue dried (24 hours) and I did inform you that if there was any more problems to call me, I never recieved a phone call.

A review for Adrian Plumbing

Mar 15, 2013

Adrian is punctual, honest, and keeps his work area clean. We had a horrible experience with another plumber and were delighted that Adrian came in to fix the other guy's mistakes. Adrian had to redo all the plumbing under the sink because it had all been done wrong. When he noticed a part missing from the new faucet (which the previous plumber must have thrown out), he offered to come back another day to install it at no extra charge once we were able to secure a new part, and he was true to his word. We would not hesitate to call him again.

A review for The Moore Brothers Toronto

Jan 02, 2013

In the summer 2012 after seeing the reviews on Homestars, I hired Moore Brothers to paint the exterior of my bungalow in Etobicoke right before putting it on the market. They did a great job and were able to come in quickly before I was listing the house. I most recently (Dec 2012) had them come into one of my investment properties after the tenants left it in a state of complete filthiness, to paint some of the rooms, floors and staircases. Moore brothers once again were great to work with in terms of scheduling, quality, and flexibility with the scope of work to make it fit my budget. Even when there was a misunderstanding about the scope, we were able to resolve it in a way that was completely satisfactory. Kevin, Kirk and Kelly were all very good to deal with and take a lot of pride in their work and obtaining customer satisfaction.

A review for Derek's Tree Service INC

Jul 06, 2010

Derek arrived on time to provide the quote that I had requested. He understood that it was a new house for me with lots of expenses and as such just quoted on the work that would accomplish my primary goals. His quoted price was in line with the competition. On the day of the job, he arrived early with his crew, was fast and efficient, and made sure to confirm with me, prior to finishing up, that he had done everything that we had talked about. I would certainly recommend him and use his services again.

Company Response:

It was a pleasure to work for you and we appreciate the review, please keep us in mind in the future. Thanks, Derek

A review for Ken Haller Home Inspection Services

Mar 20, 2010

I had a home inspection clause in my offer on a house in Leslieville last summer. I hired Ken Haller to satisfy myself as to the condition of the house. His report was generally good so I waived my condition. Big mistake. He missed significant items that cost me a lot of money in the following months. One item was the significant presence of knob and tube. The report didn't say there was any, that it was all copper wiring. The other item was water penetration in the basement. For these two items alone my expenses were over $12,000. I would not recommend his services.

A review for $99.00 FOR A WHOLE HOUSE FOR DUCT CLEANING (GTA) CALL (416) 651- 1222 (Toronto)TOTAL DUCT CLEANING

Nov 12, 2009

Do NOT hire this company. They provide incompetent service. After having my duct supposedly cleaned, a brand new air filter was absolutely filthy after 48 hours (see pic). There was visual debris, dust, pet hair in the vents still leftover right after they were done(see pic). This company should be shut down!!!
