A review for Great Canadian Van Lines

Experience ranged from being screamed at and told I was stupid, to people telling me things that simply were not true to people refusing to take my calls. Don't use them. They are really nice upfront but once they have your money, all customer service is gone. Don't put your belongings into storage because when you do you pay in advance to move them out - having paid upfront, they will refuse to accommodate you at every turn because they are making new money from other customers and your money came in the door months prior. They are the worst movers I have ever used and I have moved 5 times over the past 4 years. Stay away from this company!

A review for Home Service Club

I had bad experience over many years with Home Service Club. The contractors, always men, over-estimated the costs of the job because I was a single mother who lived in a well-off area of Toronto. I had a free membership because I was a member of the Canadian Bar Association. When I complained to that organization, the man who was in charge of the relationships with "partners" told me that many women on his staff had the same view (i.e., they were being taken advantage of because they were women) but refused to do anything to help me including canceling the relationship. I have not used them ever since and am very upset by the CBA reaction.
