9pm on Saturday night, I noticed the house getting cold and the furnace not working. I opened the furnace panel and saw that the gas was igniting but it was shutting itself off after 5 seconds. I called the companies listed on Homestars above this one to find someone to come to my house to fix the furnace. Nobody answered their phone or were not available. WHEN I CALLED AIRHEATINGPLUS, I spoke with Renato Boskovic (manager). He diagnosed my problem OVER THE PHONE!!! Mr. Boskovic told me what to do to fix it. It was like he had a picture of my 15yr old furnace in front of him as he described where I needed to look and what I should do. Absolutely amazing. Mr. Boskovic is someone I would trust with my property anytime. Thank you again Mr. Boskovic for helping me at such a bad time and saving me at least $150. When the time comes to replace my furnace, I have you in mind.

House built 1912. I needed my chimney rebuilt, tuckpointing in various areas around the house and deteriorated bricks needed to be replaced. I did some research on the work needed (right outside temp for brick work, mortar type, brick type, etc). I had about 5 quotes mostly from last fall. This spring (Apr 2010) I chose this company partly because they called me to find out if the work was done already. The only company to remember my house. Another reason I chose this company is because Andy was honest with me. He was not the cheapest of the 5 quotes but my house is not the easiest to work on either. I thought Andy was fair and his employees were hardworking professionals. Well worth the money. Chimney looks proper, bricks match very well, mortar matches perfectly.

A review for Mr Rooter Plumbing

Work done dec2009. I obtained a few quotes but Alex from Mr Rooter was the only one that would do the work and showed me their price was their standard for the job. No scam here. The price was for labour, the pump, and PVC pipes. Alex clearly put some thought into how the water will flow once it's pumped up the pipe and out of the house. He designed the system very intelligently. I wanted the water pumped from the basement to the front lawn. Alex made it so the water wouldn't freeze in the pipe once it was pumped out and it wouldn't flow back into the basement. I didn't expect all the thought that went into the job. I'm glad I chose Mr Rooter and I'd be confident about hiring Alex again. Everything works great so far. And I still don't want the video pipe inspection :)

A review for Tac Masonry

I had a leak around my chimney. It developed into more than just a leak. My chimney was under 3ft tall, against building code. Flashing was installed and I called this company to build the chimney up to code. It looks like he did good job building, I didn't have to wait long, I'm confident he knew what he was doing and he had my budget at the top of his mind. I wish I had done more research on the type of brick he was going to use because it doesn't match the old (like I had asked) and the bright white flashing he used doesn't fit with the house. I'll have to paint it. He's a good builder but I guess I need to pay more if I want nicer looking construction. I'd hire him again but would pay more attention and probably money.

A review for All Cities Roofing & Repair

Nov 2008, my roof started leaking badly because there was no flashing around the chimney for some odd reason. More rain was on the way so I called a couple companies for quotes. Randy of All Cities Roofing clearly had experience. He waists no time explaining the problems and offers solutions to fit your budget. No BS. Randy had other work to complete but came to my house whenever he could find some time. I didn't need to call him once because the repairs were done quickly and done very well. Check Better Business Bureau...he's a member since 2005.

A review for Home Depot - Port Coquitlam

Last year, I hired home depot to install a new Trane furnace (no payment for 1yr). They sent two guys to do the job. One was a young apprentice who didn't get enough supervision here. I'm sure he stepped on my aluminum gutters when he went up to the roof. He bent it badly out of shape. Of course he didn't say anything. They also should have installed a B vent in the chimney to safely vent the hazardous gas. Now I'm paying another company to do this for $200.

I called and asked for same day service and surprisingly, they called back seconds later to say someone was on the way to give me a quote. The electrician showed up on time, good attitude, and went straight to work after giving me a quote (for the job, not per hour). It was more expensive than I expected but I have no doubt the work was done properly and to code. While working, he pointed out other electrical issues to be done in the future.

A review for Union Pumps

Knowledgeable employees but they're very busy. Good luck trying to get them to your house within the month. Then once they arrive, the work is done quickly but don't expect them to clean up after themselves. I found electrical tape and pieces of pipe in various places inside and outside. I called an electrician to finish the hookup and he mentioned that the electrical cable they used was too small for the 3/4hp pump. It will last for 2yrs at least. After that is unknown. Still, I think Union pumps is one of the better installers out there.

A review for A&H drilling ltd

I hired this company to drill a well to supply water to my house feb2008. I called a couple other companies to compare but A&H Drilling made the effort to give a free detailed estimate in person and on paper. They also researched local wells and inquired with neighbors regarding their Well water depth and GPM. He answered my questions and the job was done a week later. The price is high for my wallet($8000) but fair considering the time/effort the workers spent trying to develop the Well. They found a spot producing 10GPM. No complaints.

A review for Stumps Only

I contacted Paul at Stumps Only because I was trying to plan ahead for when I found someone to take down my dead tree. The problem was I couldn't find a tree service in the LMD that would come cut the tree. I called almost all the tree services in the phone book. When I called Paul and told him he could grind the stumps if he could find a tree service, he found one the next day and all the work was done the next week. He did a good job for a fair price and kept a great attitude, despite the rock bolder he encountered inside one of the stumps (he had tools to take care of that bolder too). Thanks again Paul.
