I had a tree in my backyard requiring removal. The limited space and overhead wires meant I needed someone who knew what they were doing. After reading many positive reviews of McDonald forestry on Homestars I called and spoke directly to the owner Steve McDonald who came out that same day to assess the job and provide a quote. I was impressed with Steve’s response and arranged a time for him to start the job the following week. Steve arrived when he said he would with equipment in tow at which time I left him to go to work. When I arrived home later that evening the job was complete -- the tree gone, the yard tidy, everything in order. No complaints. In summary, I have nothing but good things to say about Steve McDonald and McDonald Forestry. I recommend him to anyone needing the services of an arborist.

On Saturday afternoon (Halloween) I had a puncture in the copper pipe leading from my hot water tank. After calling another plumber (listed on Homestars) and being told they wouldn't be able to have someone come over until the next morning, I called Mr Rooter. They said they would have someone come within an hour, and true to their word, Master Plumber Ric showed up within the hour. He quickly assessed the problem, game me an exact quote, then proceeded to fix it efficiently and professionally. I am one satisfied customer! Next time I have a plumbing issue, Mr Rooter will be the only company I call!

Based on reviews of others on this site I called Frontier Flooring to get a quote for installing hardwood floors in two upstairs bedrooms. I spoke to Angelo who sent someone over right away to determine which wood to use -- I wanted to match the existing wood throughout the rest of the house, -- as well as measure the extent of the job. A quote quickly followed and we arranged a suitable date for installation. The installers arrived on time, worked diligently -- cleaning up as they went, -- and did an excellent job right down to the detail of matching the baseboard trim. I’m very pleased with the end result and would happily call them again when we decide to refinish our downstairs floors.
