A review for Royal Custom Cabinets & Closets

Lisa Fortino was very focussed on helping my wife and I get a kitchen that would work for us. She is an expert and she was very good at sorting out what would work best in our house. The team at Royal came up with a very good design that we signed off on and then the rest of the team got to work building the cabinets. The installation was fast and all of the cabinets fit very well and everything works. The quality of the materials, the construction, and the hardware is high. It is a much easier kitchen to cook in. Several months later, with the change of the seasons from very dry to very humid, there was one minor issue with a door that would not quite close. It was very minor. We contacted Lisa and she set her people to work fixing the problem. This too was handled very quickly and I feel that they went far above what was expected. I highly recommend Lisa and her team (including Sergio who came on a weekend to fix the minor issue) and I thank them for their help. I would happily have this company do work for us again and I highly recommend them.

A review for Cosmopolitan Heating and Duct Cleaning

Their service was appallingly bad. They broke a tube because of rough handling and they were unable to get a replacement part. The tech said the previous two cleanings had been done improperly. They never were able to fix the part they broke and they just refused to help us - extremely rude and dismissive service manager. We ended up going to another company altogether. All of this took place in the week before Christmas and in extreme cold.

A review for Custom window designs

Custom Window Designs came to us as a subcontractor to Duguay's Works. We decided to use them to replace all of our windows, install some siding, and install a new screen door. Their price quote was competitive and the work was done quickly and neatly. There was no damage to walls, the windows look good, and we have noticed quite an improvement - no drafts, quieter inside, and generally, the house is warmer. If I had any windows left to replace, I would use this company without hesitation. I highly recommend them.

A review for Duguay's Works

Cale Duguay did a very good job. He and his crew were efficient, professional, and very helpful. He kept to the budget and he was able to effectively manage the subcontractors that were part of our renovation. Throughout, he was polite, prompt, kept things as clean as possible, and he left us with a stunningly beautiful kitchen and bathroom that made the best use of our small bungalow. As well, the basement insulation was extremely neat and it has really helped to reduce our energy costs. Cale solved some big problems in our older home (circa 1947) such as a weak bathroom floor and some questionable plumbing repairs done by the previous owner. He was also very good at picking colours and finishes for such things as bathroom tiles, the backsplash, and paint. While my wife and I had some ideas, he shared his wealth of experience and his really good design sense freely and willingly. Where there were minor problems, not of his making I might add, he was very good at resolving issues to everyone's satisfaction. As a final comment, all of his crew and his subcontractors were great people to work with too. We replaced all the windows in our house on the basis of the good work done in the kitchen and bathroom. We highly recommend Cale for the quality of his work, his ability to stick to the budget, how easy he was to work with, and his attention to detail.

A review for CHR Renovation Restoration

Jim Urquhart and his crew (Brendan and Bill) did an excellent job from start to finish. Jim's easy-to-understand estimate included a very clear explanation of what he would do so that it was easy to see what we would be getting. Throughout the busy summer, Jim kept us informed as to when he would have his crew on site. We wanted to replace the vertically-placed bricks on the window sills and Jim recommended a shale that was well suited for this purpose and affordable. Jim's Gentle Giants (aka Brendan and Bill), who seemed to know everything there was to know about bricks, stone, and the stuff that binds them, were very cheerful, friendly, and pleasant - they were also fast, clean, and kept the trampling to a bare minimum. Overall, they fixed numerous step cracks, shifting blocks, missing mortar, and other problems with a clear mastery of their craft - these people really know their stuff and they like what they do. They were a delight to deal with and I would highly recommend them for any masonry or structural work that your house may need. They got all the work done so quickly that they were able to do some additional repairs to my beloved concrete block garage.
