Our experience dealing with Dome was very good. They were prompt, and very clean. Their pricing was similar to other quotes we received. I would recommend them. We have a 1 1/2 story house. Last year we replaced the roof and improved the ventilation but as a result this caused a situation of severe ice-damming (icicles forming along the eaves troughs). Dome sprayed foam insulation along the underside of the roof inside the knee-walls. This reduced the ice-damming, but did not eliminate it.

Company Response

We come across ice damming issues all the time and are glad that the work we suggested and completed for your home made a difference. Unfortunately ice damming can have many components not limited to indoor variables but is also affected by extreme fluctuations in outside temperatures. In existing homes where there are kneewalls, cathedral ceilings and such it is hard to completely remove and isolate the exact cause without really opening up lots of drywall. In any case I'm glad to hear that you were very happy with our workmanship and customer service - We aim to provide nothing but the best in insulation for your home! Thanks for the review - we appreciate your time and feedback!

We thought it was a good job at the time, but we are not happy with the follow up of issues that have come up. In July 2012 we got a new roof installed. We bought a 1 1/2 story house and the top floor was very hot. Juffs recommended putting in baffles to increase the ventilation through the cathedral part of the roof. This worked to some extent, and the top floor is now cooler in the summer. However, now we have ice damming! We discussed the insulation in the knee-walls at the time of the original job. I had a concern that if we vent the knee-walls that this could let cold air into the house and cause problems if there were insulation gaps. Juffs said that we had sufficient insulation and this would not be a problem. But it is! I sent Steve Meltz an email with photos of the ice damming last winter (Dec 2012) and he said he would be in touch and "This shouldn't damage the new roof". Well, I never heard back from him. I called and left voice mails and emails, but nothing. Now with winter of 2013 approaching, we have to deal with the insulation problem. We will be looking for a different contractor to do the insulation.

Very pleased with their work. Nedd came and did the estimate and took the time to listen and explain everything. Their pricing was comparable with other quotes we received. Joe and his team did the work and were courteous, professional and very clean. I was especially impressed with the patching work they did to match the texture of the old plaster walls and ceilings. We had less than 30 days to get the work done, and they were able to start right away and complete the job in time. The job ended up being about 50% more than expected due to discovery of additional old wiring that needed to be replaced, but we were kept informed and the pricing was transparent and consistent with our expectations. Overall, we are very happy and would recommend Tesla without hesitation.
