The Antiques market at the St Lawrence market has always been a favourite place to visit on weekends for me. I've picked up some great decor items there including an excellent lamp. Would love to see it expand and feature even more mid century modern furniture options. Be sure to get there early for the best selection.
Bought a great looking office chair from Structube in North York but upon bringing the chair home and putting it together with the arms it does not fit the standard desk height. Structube while it has great products has a terrible return policy and we were unable to return the chair after it had been assembled even if we were to take the chair apart. I want to support the store because I like their products so I am hoping the return policy has or will change.
Went to Olympia based on a recommendation by a friend. Had some tiles I had to match in my bathroom due to a reno. They had tons of choices and a match for my tiles. Was easily able to find them there affordably.
I have been searching everywhere for a durable outdoor rug that is the right width and length for my balcony and would be easy to clean. Kitchen Stuff Plus had a variety of affordable choices perfect for the balconies in the area. Mine has outlasted the construction, rain, and had no sun damage.
Seriously the best place to buy Herman Miller Chairs. I got 2 DSR chairs during their Herman Miller days (which is also offered at DWR and other Herman Miller sellers) EQ3 however allowed in store pick up (I live really close and DWR was charging hefty delivery fees since the chairs ship from the US and aren't in store). All around great experience with Eq3. Chairs were ready the next week to pick up without shipping charges. Definitely using EQ3 again and hey they are Canadian!
I went to victor gallery based on a friend's suggestion for prints I had purchased that were a bit off size and I was able to find a variety of frames that were well priced to fit the prints perfectly. Their hours are not ideal but they definitely have the largest selection of frame sizes and if they don't have one off the shelf to fit they do custom framing too.
I needed a rug to cover the tile in my kitchen with the awkward size of the kitchen and the fact that I wanted something I could easily replace if have a large spill, pet fur, etc. I headed to Flor for their Flor tiles. Super helpful staff helped me find the right type of tile for the area and the size I needed. WIll definitely be back for more Flor tiles for other areas of my home. Great for spills, pets, kids because you can cheaply replace a tile.
Called high tech about my condo dryer issue and they had someone at my place the next day and the replacement part in by the end of the week! They were friendly, honest, and quick! Recommended them to others in my building with the same washer/dryer units.

I went to union lighting because I had browsed their extensive site online and they had the best options for tracklights for my condo kitchen. I went to the showroom vs. buying online to check out the lights and was glad I did as I picked up other lights for other areas of my home. great store, lots of choices.
High-Tech on front street is the perfect store for host gifts. I got a peugeot pepper mill here for a housewarming gift. Staff is helpful and they have the best choices for higher end kitchen gifts at good prices.
I was surprised to find that the downtown lumber store had such a wide selection of bathroom and kitchen faucets and the staff there helped me choose one that would work with my existing vanity and was easy enough for me to install myself. The prices are more expensive than I have seen elsewhere but you can't beat the convenience and the service.
I needed to find a paint shop downtown near my condo with benjamin moore paints to finish a paint job of my living dining and bathroom areas. Paint Colours Unlimited had Benjamin Moore paints and even helped to suggest the appropriate paints for the rooms I was doing in my condo and the required amounts based on the space I was covering and the shade I wanted.
Handyman connection found me a handyman to come and fix my leaky toilet and noisy tub handle which was missing an internal piece. They were quick, friendly and reasonably priced.
I contracted Oakridge Woodworking for a reno of my kitchen cupboards. They took my existing cupboard doors and made new doors in the colour I chose including hardware in 4 weeks. They also helped to reconfigure my kitchen cupboard drawers and built me new drawers.
Purchased floor tile and tub surround and backsplash tile from Olympia for my large bathroom reno. The staff was helpful in helping me choose tile that was appropriate for my project and within budget. Was referred here by a contractor.
Using Toronto Granite for my Kitchen Quartz countertop. Best prices and I shopped around quite a bit. Also the best selection and very responsive via email to all my questions. I am looking forward to working with them for a bathroom counter replacement soon.
Christmas Gifts/Housewarming Gifts
This is the first place I will go for Christmas gifts/Housewarming gifts. It has a great selection of Kate Spade table wear and great coffee table books. I like both the yorkville and bayview village locations. Staff is good with recommendations.
The largest selection of fabrics I have ever seen. I found everything I needed to create my own throw pillows. Saw Designer Fabrics on Sarah 101. I'll be back soon. Staff was very helpful
Neat stuff has a great selection of flor carpeting and they helped me find the best solution for a runner in my kitchen. They have a great selection of storage solutions for small spaces.
Best purchase ever. The storage bed from west elm is perfect for my small condo bedroom and everything but headboard was in stock so I was able to pick it up immediately.
I went to Sleep Country to upgrade from a Double to Queen bed and I wanted the same mattresses I had purchased from them a few years back. The sales guy was helpful and looked up the model and found the closest product they had in store. I had to push back delivery a few times as I was getting a new condo and they were very accommodating.
I went to Brampton Hardwood because I heard good things about their warehouse sale. While the sales people can be really pushy at the warehouse sale I was happy with the flooring I purchased from there. 600 sqft for $1200.

Went to the Chesterfield Shop because I had heard they have a large selection of sleeper sofas and they did. I dealt with Jordan and he was great at helping me pick out a couch that would fit in my condo and an appropriate fabric. Couch was delivered only about a week later than estimated (but I did order over Christmas). Delivery team was great too!
I was looking for a discontinued LG refrigerator that was the only fridge compact enough to fit in my condo and I reached out to as many retailers in Ontario including LG themselves and could not locate the fridge. Not only did Bloor Dovercourt have the last fridge, Joe held it for me when another interested customer came into the store prepared to buy it!
