Idrees was recommended by ProSource where we bought our hardwood. We're glad we took the recommendation, Idrees and Rami have been great. Fair price, excellent workmanship (a better word is craftsmanship, perfect height and direction transitions) and a pleasure to deal with. I look forward to having Idrees back to lay the hardwood on our main floor. Highly recommen

Though we know what we like when we see it, neither my wife nor I have much sense of how choose colours to give a space a particular look and feel. After reading her positive reviews, we hired Nanette to advise us on paint colours for our entire home. She's punctual, professional and made the process fun. Nanette suggested colours that neither of us would have picked and though we were somewhat hesitant we put our trust in her . Glad we did because the rooms look great! We'll be getting further advice from her on flooring.

Thanks Frank! Repeat clients are always a huge compliment and I enjoy working on your ongoing renovation. My clients are 'scared' of some of my colour suggestions; but they inevitably are the ones they end up liking the most. Glad you love yours too! Can't wait to see the project unfold. Nanette

If you take the time to scan through Paul’s reviews you will find only one 9/10, all others are 10/10. I add my voice to the chorus of PTR fans and would give him an 11/10 if I could. From our first meeting I got a good sense from Paul. He’s punctual, accurate in his estimates, provides good suggestions, ask questions when needed and doesn’t make assumptions if he’s uncertain. My renovation involved a large two floor addition on the south side, a new room over the garage, removal and replacement of interior and exterior load bearing walls with steel beams and columns and new dormers on the north side. He and Jason handled it all professionally and got it done in the time he quoted. I also appreciated that they worked on my job exclusively and didn’t work on other jobs until mine was done (which I’ve seen other contractors do). When we decided later to add a semicircular transom to the dormer windows, Paul and Jason reframed all 3 dormers in half a day (amazingly efficient!). And to top it off, they both have excellent senses of humour! Look no further, hire PTR Carpentry!

After reading their reviews on HomeStars I decided to call RCC to waterproof my house. Rick came by to talk about the work to be done and clearly explained all the steps. The job was done in two stages; first two walls of the existing structure and a few weeks later a basement addition. Both times Marco and his crew showed up on time, worked hard, got the job done in a day and cleaned up after themselves; all very professional. The thing that I most appreciated most was that they agreed to let me dig and backfill the trenches (something not all waterproofing companies are willing to do) which saved me a significant amount of money. Glad I hired RCC, would recommend them to anyone who asks.

I heard about Avelino from a friend of a friend. I’d score him 11/10 if I could. He did a great job on the excavation: showed up on the agreed day, took him no longer than he said it would and knew what he was doing. Best of all he has a great sense of humour. All at 2/3 of another quote I got for the job. If you need excavation work done, call Avelino, you won’t be disappointed!

The March 11, 2010 review of RHI entitled 'Engineering work', written by Douglas in Toronto rings true. I chose Royal Home Improvements as the general contractor for my renovation based on their Renomark and NKBA certifications. As a starting point, I agreed to pay for a set of permit ready drawings and an engineer's specification for a beam to replace a load bearing wall. I'm ashamed to admit what I paid, especially considering that the drawings I was subsequently given weren't permit ready (as per the Etobicoke permit office). When asked for a quote on the entire renovation Paul N. named a (in my opinion) staggering sum without providing any details as to how the number was arrived at. Overall, I was left with the impression that his primary interest was making money rather than ensuring his client was satisfied. In hindsightI wish I had read RHI's HomeStars reviews before doing business with them. Their track record seems hit and miss. Avoid RHI!

Use someone other than RHI as your general contractor.

We maintain a full and complete record of all our clients (as any reputable business does), and review of that list from the last 3 years shows no matches for anyone named Frank, living in Etobicoke who purchased permit ready drawings and engineering services from us. Given this, we can't respond and question the authenticity of the post. Any time we sell "permit ready" drawings, we guarantee they will be sufficient to get a permit, and the accompanying engineer's stamp is ordinarily more than enough. Particularly amazed at the advice the poster offers to others as he/she (purportedly) never used us as their General Contractor either. Suspiciuous post from the cheap seats.
