A review for Avalon Granite & Marble

Avalon Granite was a great company to deal with. They responded quickly to our initial inquiry and provided their quote, even though the marble I wanted was not the one used in most jobs. As I wanted a special marble, I handled quite long negotiations with 2 companies, and in the process Avalon (Uri) proved to be more competitive and flexible. Due to the specificity of my project, Uri himself paid a visit to my house to make sure he understands my needs and will deliver accordingly. And they did! We scheduled and completed the job on time and to our complete satisfaction. Everyone that works with the organization - including Jerry the template designer (who was very professional and gave me some great advice) and all installers are knowledgeable, efficient and easy to deal with. They are service oriented, have a great product and are very responsive to customer needs. Highly recommended.

I sent out an inquiry through Homestars to a few companies, a couple amongst the top rated here. John was the one who responded back timely; he understood the importance of timing in our project and was able to fit us in within a few days. Although he did not see the project, he gave me an estimation (and a reasonable one) over the phone which he confirmed and respected in the end. He arrived on time and changed wiring to accommodate a new oven. He also changed all plugs and switches in the kitchen. John and his crew cleaned up after themselves and overall we are very happy with the work. I would recommend John and will definitely use him again.

A review for El Cheapo Movers Ltd.

Worked with El Cheapo twice and i will work with them again. They are serious, give a good price and are very hard working. The second move was quite complicated and the guys were reallly tired but they did nit stop until everything was in its place.

A review for Tradesmen Plus

Work was ok, however, was pretty expensive for about 4-5 hrs in total. The guy who came has been working in the house for the prior owner, and he spent way too much time talking about what he has done in the house before. Then he left without doing one item on the list, I had to call him back the next day again. I will not use them again.

A review for Interiors Only Inc

We visited Interiors only store on Bloor West and started some discussions about blinds we might need in the house. Although we have done some measurements, we were encouraged by one of the store representatives to use the ir measurement service. We were told we can do the measurements of all the windows we might want blinds even though we are not going to order them right away. We agreed, paid 75$ plus tax and scheduled an appointment, The work was done promptly and took at the most 30 min. 1 week later, I got a call, received a partial cost estimate over the phone, As I was planning to compare different offers from other 2 stores, I asked for an email with all the details of the measurements and estimates. I have been informed that measurements will not be disclosed and that they belong to “Interiors Only”, despite the fact that the “measurement service” was paid and not complementary to ordering blinds from this company. The lady told me I have paid for the work, but not for the outcome of that work, which is the measurement itself. If what we have paid for was an estimate and not a measurement, we were not informed properly by the stores representatives. They deceived us in believing that what we are paying for it's a professional measurement of the windows , independent of where we would order the blinds. I find this sales practice unacceptable, deceiving and unfairly treating customers and I am sure I will never put my foot in that store ever again.
