A review for Humber Nurseries Ltd.

Generally speaking, I find the place to be overpriced. However, I happened to go during their annual end of season sale and got many plants for 50% off. Now this may not seem like a deal if they are dead r dying, however, they still back up their plants with a 2 year warranty. So, if my plant failed to grow and die on me, I would be reimbursed for the amount spent on the plant. Other nurseries only warranty plants that are full price.

A review for Decorium

A while back I purchased a sectional sofa made by Bauhaus at Decorium. I also purchased a warranty on the sofa that would last for 5 years. When I tried to use the warranty (within the allotted time period) I was given a million forms to fill out, photos to send, and to provide proof of purchase (even though they had my information on file at the Warranty location). I couldn't locate my bill, so I called Decorium to send me a copy... I was told it would be no problem, but even after 5 calls back, I never got the receipt mailed to me.

I originally called an in home service to price out the cost of blinds (the 2 inch, faux wood kinds) and they gave me an approximate price of $1200.00 for the entire house. I then went to BouClair and priced out the exact same thing. The total was less than $700.00 (during their 50% off sale). The only difference was that my husband had to do the installation himself. If you're looking to save, and can manage the simple install, go for it here.

I love the low VOC paint at Benjamin Moore. The cost is relatively the same (maybe a little higher) as most other name brands, but the quality is far greater. It goes on smoothly in a nice thick coat, where several coats aren't always necessary. Also, I was pregnant when we used it, and so it was good that there were no fumes for the baby to sniff!

Trying to figure out what colour paint to get is hard enough, then to try and figure out what brand... thats too much for me. So, I went to Benjamin Moore in Brampton (off McVean) and they helped me out. I brought fabric in to give an idea of what colour scheme I wanted and they found the right colours. They could even do an exact match if I wanted. Much better than going to big box stores and waiting for a long time. Great one to one service as soon as you walk in the door!

If you're thinking about getting your landscaping done, you can look into the designer at Humber Nurseries. They provide a service where they will create a design based on your preferences and give you an scaled drawing to take home. There is some homework involved and is not necessarily appropriate for all levels of design. A simple design is what we asked for, and what we got.

Direct Interiors was a great place to start for furnishings. They can help with delivery and setup and are awesome to deal with if you have any problems. The mix of styles is both modern and traditional.
