Darryl came out to do a quote for a major canopy reduction of a large tree in the backyard. He seemed very knowledgeable, honest and sincere, which gave us lots of confidence (we and 2 other neighbours who went in together on the job). His quote was more than reasonable compared to 2 other highly rated companies we spoke to. He provided a professional and detailed estimate, and arrived on time, as scheduled. The job was done exactly as described. He also did a really great job cleaning up. In fact, the yard were cleaner after they left than before they started. They pretty much did our fall cleanup :) We were also super impressed when Darryl pointed out that a fallen branch had made a minor crack in a patio stone. I could hardly see it when he pointed it out. He took responsibility for this and immediately gave back a partial refund for the minor damage. We're all very happy with the job that was done and would wholeheartedly recommend Darryl and Upanoak to everybody !

I had a couple of shingles blow off my roof (very small job), and Chris came down within a few hours of us speaking on the phone. He replaced them at a reasonable rate (compared to some other companies I called). He did a roof inspection while he was at it , and fixed some extra shingles that he found were not sitting right. Chris had a very genuine and trusting demeanour and I wouldn't hesitate to call him again for a roof repair, or if we eventually need to replace our roof.

We are very happy with the work that Zenic did and would recommend him without hesitation to anybody. We had very inadequate roof ventilation and attic insulation, and it took us a long time to find somebody that we felt comfortable to do the work for us. We called about a dozen people from homestars, and only 3 came to quote. One was a complete job and quoted us a $25,000 job using some really ridiculous scare tactics ... The other two quoted a similar job with a similar price, and we chose Zenic because he seemed very honest and trustworthy. We pre-scheduled the job weeks in advance, and he held true to the date, and showed up on time. He took great efforts to ensure that the area was sealed off to avoid dust going through the house, given that we had young children around. Its hard to really judge the workmanship not knowing much about this stuff, but it seemed like they did a really good job. We notice a difference in the house, that's for sure. Everything was done in a day and done as discussed prior to the job. There were no surprise costs. The whole process was very smooth. Overall, we were very happy with our new deck & fence put in by the Custom Deck Company. We would have given a full 10/10 but there were a few hiccups along the way due to a bit of carelessness by the crew. A couple of calls to Dany however always resulting in a quick solution where we were more than happy with in the end. Dany is super great to deal with and I would refer him to any friends, family or strangers here on the internet without any hesitation. The deck and fence looks great!

I would strongly recommend Reliable Home Comfort to anybody!. I couldn't be more satisfied with the work done by Rob, Dave and the crew. Starting off with the quoting process - Dave came to do the quote and he was super friendly, knowledgeable and patient with all of my questions. They were the 3rd company I had over to quote. Their price fell right in the middle of the three, but I felt most comfortable with Dave, hands down. The work started and finished the next day. The attention to detail and good quality that Rob put into the job couldn't go unnoticed. He went out and bought a special drill bit to ensure a clean cut into my stucco exterior where the exhaust pipe would come out. I watched them so carefully ensure that the appearance of the changes made to the exterior were clean. The furnace went in without a hitch, and everything has been running great since they put it in (about a week). They cleaned up after themselves so nicely -- you wouldn't even know that anybody had been there to do work. I want to especially point out our gratitude for Dave - who did an amazing job to fix a problem (thrown into the job pro-bono) that we were prepared to pay close to $700 to fix. We had no airflow coming into my daughter's bedroom and we had 2 other companies quote on opening up 2 walls in our home to completely replace the duct work. Dave looked at it and noticed that the outside of the duct was insulated with asbestos and explained the potential health risks of removing it. Instead of removing it, he fixed the duct with sheet metal. Since then, the air flow in my daughter's bedroom is stronger than any other room in the house. We are so incredibly grateful for this! Thank you Dave, Rob and the rest of the crew at Reliable Home Comfort! We'll definitely be referring you at any chance we get.

We hired Slavic to install a sewer back-water valve after our basement was flooded. He was referred to us by ICY Reno & Waterproofing, who we already hired to waterproof our home. Slavic and his team were professional, efficient a pleasure to have in our home doing the work. The job only took a couple of hours and he made sure all of the paper work for the government rebate were prepared for us, making the whole process nice and easy. I would definitely recommend Slavic @ Toronto Drain & Plumbing.

I am very happy with the work that Igor and his team did in my home and am so pleased with how great the experience was in working with them. My basement was flooded and needed a ton of prevention measures to be put in place to fix the vulnerabilities. Igor came up with great solution ideas and was able to quote me right on the spot on his first visit. We had several quoters come in and his quote was right in the middle of the others. I felt much more comfortable with him than going with the other cheaper options.... It just felt right with him. No matter what he came across during the job, he stuck to his original quote. The job consisted of: interior waterproofing (membrane/weeping tile) around the perimeter of my house, sump pit/ pump installation, re-grading a concrete walkway to direct water away from my house, raising the height of my window wells, replacing two drains with better catch basins and a sewer backup valve installation (installed by Igor's partner company - Toronto Drain & Plumbing -- also great!. Dealing with Igor was very comforting. The job was done impressively quickly and cleanly. Each night, the crew cleaned up so well which was so much appreciated. Although it is too soon to know whether or not we will ever have water come into our basement again, I have a good feeling that the job was all done perfectly, and trust that Igor stands behind his warranty. I would recommend Igor to anybody! (and already have ... he'll be doing work for my grandfather next week :)

We were very satisfied by the services provided by Tony and his team at Albvision Windows & Doors. We had 3 companies come in to quote on the job to replace 5 windows in a 100+ year old home. They all quoted similar prices, but what made us choose Albvision was that they were confident in being able to complete the job without having to redo the exterior stucco. The other companies said that they would need to cut out Stucco and would need to hire a Stucco company to come and replace. The stucco on the exterior was untouched and the finish was perfect. Everything looks great. The windows appear to be great quality and the draft seems to be gone, although its a bit early int he season to evaluate that. Tony also fixed the crank of a different window free of charge. I would recommend Albvision to anybody. Great job!

Atiar arrived at my house within a few hours of my call to notify him of my Maytag dryer malfunction. It turned out that there was nothing wrong with the dryer, but the exhaust pipe was just not installed properly and was therefore plugged up with lint and water. He cut and repositioned the pipe and cleaned it out, and was in and out in 15 minutes. We really appreciate the quick, honest and direct service.

I whole heartedly recommend Vitaly for any eaves/downspout needs. I couldn’t speak more highly of him and his work. Read below for a summary of my experiences with him: Firstly, out of the three highly rated homestar vendors that I called, he was the first to get back to me. I called him on a Sunday morning, and he came to my house on Sunday afternoon to assess the job. You can immediately sense his integrity, sincerity and honesty upon meeting him. He looked at my leaky eaves and downspout situation and immediately told me that my eaves are in good condition but just need a good cleaning. Even though I recently had my eaves professional cleaned, he explained that most cleaners do not clean out the elbows and downspouts. Upon my request he also quoted me on leaf-guarding. His prices were FAR less than the competitors, and he was the only of the other two competitors that didn’t suggest that I replace the whole eaves system for several thousand additional dollars. The others said that I shouldn’t invest in leaf guards on an old eaves system --- Vitaly said that my eaves are perfectly fine. Vitaly completed the job for the exact price that he quoted me, which I felt to be VERY reasonable, especially compared to his competition. He also added in several free-bees – fixing other issues that he found after his original assessment. He also created a awning over a leaking window of mine using siding – a job that I had several people come to quote on, but nobody wanted to do it because it involved moving some pipes / obstacles in the way. I was so happy that Vitaly did this job, and for a very reasonable price. The workmanship seemed great – It rained the evening he finished the work and all of my problems were solved. Thanks Vitaly! My car was broken into and they took my wallet and house keys. I wanted to change the locks of my house immediately, so I called up Eagle Doors after a quick search on Home Stars. Jorge was at my house 10 minutes later (at midnight on a Friday night), and spent an hour replacing 4 locks in my house. Jorge was a very gentle nice guy. I would call him anytime in the future if I ever need a locksmith. Thanks Jorge!

Joe Henhawk is an absolutely exceptional person. I have a pretty long story to tell here, so if you don't choose to read on, the moral of the story is that Joe went completely beyond the call of duty for a complete stranger out of the kindness of his heart and really helped me out. I moved into an older home in my first night sleeping there, I realized that there was very little air pressure coming out of my ducts, as well as a bad smell from the register in my newborn baby's bedroom. I went to home stars and called DialONE based on their consistently good reviews. I told Joe about the issue and he came right over to my house to check things out (the same day I called). He must of spent an hour at my house looking at my duct work, trying to understand the source of the problem. From him, I learned all about my duct system and had a good understanding of what work I had to get done to fix the problem. He told me to call an HVAC company and he pretty much told me that the duct cleaning wasn't likely to solve my problems. He also said not to clean my ducts until after I get the HVAC work done.... I was so super impressed that he would come over to my house and spend that much time, without even trying to get any business out of it. He would NOT accept any money from me for his trouble... he laughed when I tried.... I ended up calling him a few days later to have the ducts cleaned as I was paranoid about the smell in my son's room. He gave me a discounted price and sent his guy to do the service. It was a month ago already, and I wish I remembered the name of the guy that came, because, he too was also super nice, and did a great job. They left absolutely no mess in the house and were very careful to cover every register to keep the place clean. Joe called to check in after the cleaning was done to see if the smell went away, and unfortunately it hadn't gone away. Joe then came back to the house, for no charge, and sprayed a different chemical through the vent system to try to remove the smell. This stuff is used for fire restoration. It didn't really fix the problem, but he really tried everything that he could do, and he kept calling me after to follow up to see what was going on. I ended up fixing the problem with an HVAC guy, who had to re-connect the duct that turned out to be disconnected (which is what Joe suggested could be the problem from the beginning). Once that was fixed, the smell was pretty much gone. Joe is an amazing guy, and runs a great business. I couldn't recommend him more! Thanks so much Joe!

We moved into an older home and had a mould problem in the basement. We had a couple of highly rated home-stars companies come by to quote on the job, in addition to Geofocus, and Geofocus was 60% less than my next lowest quote. Lavar Blake came to do the quote and he was the most pleasant of all of the other companies that came to do the quote. He is a very nice guy, very professional and to the point. He wasn't upselling on our fears in anyway. We had a new-born baby in the house and the other companies seemed to be using that to make the problem seem bigger than it was. Lavar was fair, and re-assuring. The job was done exactly as Lavar had explained. They set up the containment area, negative pressure systems, hepa air filter in and outside of the containment area, the whole shebang... They made sure to have me inspect the containment area before they began, and they kept me in the loop throughout the process. They removed the drywall on 3 walls of our basement bathroom as well as the bathroom vanity and disposed everything. They also sanded down a sauna (which they didn't charge for). They left the hepa filter running for 24 hours after the job was complete. They cleaned up after themselves and didn't cause any mess. I was hesitant to go with Geofocus at first because I was taking a leap of faith not seeing any reviews online, but If I am unfortunate enough to have another mold problem, I won't hesitate to call Geofocus. I hope this review helps others to choose them too.
