The above title of this project doesn't do it justice - this was a complete gut job. We have a century home in East Toronto. When we purchased it, the 3rd bedroom was a gross old kitchen from the 1940's - layer upon layer of linoleum, fake tiling on the walls that was made of sheets of wood, and old musty cabinetry. Caira Reno came to the rescue - tore all of the 'yuck' out (and removed very cleanly - literally no dust for me to clean up!), put up nice new drywall, did all of the taping, mudding, sanding, etc, sourced great wide baseboards in keeping with the age of our house, built new window and door frames, etc, etc. Caira Reno brought in great trades at really reasonable prices - an electrician to drop the sockets down closer to the ground, and a carpet guy that was super quick - once we picked what we wanted, when he came in to install, he was in and out in a flash! We couldn't be happier - should mention that this wasn't just a bedroom reno - the project was undertaken for a very important reason - to be a beautiful nursery for our first kiddo - now at 18 months old, he still loves his room!

I'm a little behind writing this review, but then again, it might be better this way because we've been using the finished product for over a year and a half! David was extremely professional at all times (but also very personable, straighforward, funny and sarcastic - which worked for us! ). We have a 100+ year old house, and hired David to completely redo our small-ish kitchen and adjacent half bath. To put it mildly, the two rooms were complete write-offs and needed to be demolished down to the lath boards. David listened to what we wanted in a kitchen (storage, functionality, clean lines, best use of space), and designed 3 options. The trades that David works with are top notch, as well as the suppliers that David brought us to. In 8 short weeks, our kitchen went from gross to gorgeous - every detail clearly thought out, maximum use of space, and beautiful finishes. A year and a half in, we still absolutely love our kitchen - we love cooking in it, still have room left in some of the cabinets, and get compliments from everyone who sees it. And the little half bath is just perfect as well. Any negatives? While I don't believe it's a negative, David's time is not cheap (nor should it be). He puts a lot of time and effort into the project, and we were fine with his rates - you get what you pay for.

we had a skylight (and skylight box) and new drywall ceiling done to the 2nd floor hallway in our home. Kevin Moore was recommended to me, and I'm so glad that he was! This was a small job for Moore Brothers, but they treated it with as much attention and care as a larger job. They patched up some divots out of the plaster walls, and touched up the paint (they colour matched it for us) perfectly! Clean lines, not a drop on the hardwood floor, just overall a great job! I wouldn't hesitate to call Moore Brothers again to do work on our home - Kevin's an absolute pleasure to deal with - very professional and personable!

Jason and the team at Canadian Roofing Company did an wonderful job on our flat roof. The previous roof was old, cracked, and worn out. The guys took all of the old roof off, installed a beautiful skylight, and torched on the new roof. This company is meticulous - our front yard was where all of the old roof got thrown down to before they collected it and put it in the truck - they picked up every last piece of tar, gravel, nails, you name it! The team is exceptionally friendly, informative, and very polite. Jason is customer service personified (not to mention extremely professional), always going over in detail what was happening, and what we should expect. When our roof was opened up, they found that 12 out of 14 of our rafters were toast - Jason's contacts with the other trades came in handy here, as he had his carpenter there ASAP, and they worked together to give me a very fair price on this extra job. I would absolutely recommend Canadian Roofing Company to anyone wanting a great product, and personalized, professional customer service to boot! My husband and I are very happy (and dry!!)

I hired Dave after reading through the reviews on HomeStars, for the purposes of giving my condo a 'once over' (but thorough) clean before putting it on the market. Dave was able to fit me into his busy schedule, and was I ever lucky he could! He came armed with his arsenal of cleaning supplies, and made the place look great! The stovetop was my greatest nemessis, with 3 years of baked on foodstuffs that I have tried every product I could find to get it off - all it needed was a visit from Dave! All of my appliances sparkled like new! For a one-man show, he cleaned the whole place until it gleamed, and in a time-efficient manner. Upon being put on the market, the condo sold the same day (after 11 hours to be exact), for slightly over asking! We couldn't have been happier with the result, and Dave played a big part in making it happen. Not only did he provide a great service, he also gave me peace of mind that that part of getting the condo was well taken care of, which meant one less thing I had to worry about! Thanks Dave - looking forward to working with you again whenever we need the services you offer - you'll be the guy we call!
