This parts store is not bad, though their accounting department is really horrible. I bought a fridge part via their call centre and was going to pick up at the local store. Well, the problem is that the part that the service rep told me I needed was not the right one. So I called back to cancel the order the same day, before even picking up the part. That went well at first...until the local store called a week later asking when I am picking up the parts. That is when it started getting confusing because of wrong charges and credits. And some of the charges came from B.C. head office, while others came from 2 different local stores. After almost a week of calling back and forth, the charges got straighten out, but it was a big hassle. Having said that, the parts that they have available and the staff from the local store on Caledonia Road were good.

My wife and I moved from our respectively homes into our new home in 2012. We needed 2 stops to pick up our stuff and furniture. The move was from Markham to Richmond Hill. The move was quite flawless. Everything was done well, did not cause any stain or dirt in any of the houses. Shoes were removed when inside. Very punctual, no damages. Oh, and their prices are very decent! Definitely will use again (hopefully not though as moving can be quite a pain in the rear!) But will recommend to anyone!

It is so unfortunate that Enbridge has a monopoly on natural gas delivery. I was at my parents' house and smelled what I thought was natural gas. Called Enbridge, and the technician came within an hour which was great. However, he only came to the porch, and just said there is no gas smell. When asked if he can check the inside as well, he refused, and just said the smell is just sewer smell. Fast forward another 2 months, after trying to find the source of this sewer smell, cleaning the whole house, we called Enbridge again. This time, the technician came with a natural gas detector right away, and it beeps so loud even at the front porch! Thank God this new technician found the leak. And he said every time a technician should be using this device to check. Because of the first technician who obviously is a complete slacker and incompetent, my parents had to breath natural gas for 2 months. What's more insulting is that when I called Enbridge to launch a complaint against the first technician, I was told I should be calling Enbridge when gas is smelled. This is a WTH moment. I did call, and I assume the technician was a professional, and when he tells me it is not natural gas, I just took his word for it. I guess I am at fault for being too naive to trust an Enbridge technician!

Their home protection plan is very good on the surface. However, they sales tactic is quite poor. I originally had just a heating service plan, and when I called to get service, the sales offered the triple service plan, which I did agree to. The problem is that he failed to inform me by doing so, I will also automatically renew the plan for 12 months and I am stuck paying for it. I found this out less than 2 weeks later, when I called to inquire more about the plan. And of course, they won't allow you to change it back and just forget about the upgrade. I also did not use any of the new services during this time. After multiple calls and countless hours, I was finally able to downgrade the plan, but that also means I have to renew the contract for another 12 months as of that date. They also never provided any written information on the new plan that I signed up for, despite requesting the information multiple times. Overall, beware of their Home Services contract as they are not transparent at all!

Well, we purchased a whole bunch of things from Mobilia, enough to furnish our living room, family room, dining room, and bedroom. The salesman Ron was awesome. Definitely a great guy! The billing department however was quite a mess, mainly due to lack of communications. The products, overall is good. Though we had to have multiple deliveries, mainly due to damages to the products when arrived. And then there is also the wood bed frame that squeaks, which is just odd despite the fact that it was actually a Made in Italy bedroom set! After a few tries to have Mobilia fix the problem, it just cannot be fixed...so it is what it is. Overall, I would definitely consider buying from Mobilia again, just have to be very careful on which product I purchase.

Furnace Room is the HVAC contractor for Home Depot. We loved having the Home Depot guarantee. We bought a furnace (Trane XV95) and water heater (Giant). The salesperson Mike was good, though he did not do any proper measurements of the house to determine the size of furnace needed. Perhaps he has been in the business for so long that he can ballpark it. He actually recommended to go with a smaller BTU unit than what we had, and also smaller than other companies who gave us a quote. Overall, the sales was good. The installation was decent, though not very good. We were promised by Mike that there would be a new pipe to get fresh air into the furnace, but the installer originally refused to do that because our basement was open and not finished, thus no need for outside air (even though outside fresh air will make the furnace burn more efficiently). It required phone calls to Mike in order to get the installer to finally put in the pipes. Then there is the checking of the ducts, which Mike said the installer will do, as well as seal up any possible leaks. Well, the installer completely refuses to do that because that is not his job. Asking Mike was no use as well. That was disappointing. But given the price we paid, it will have to suffice. As an aside, I also recommended to my parents to use Mike and they also installed the same furnace. However, that install resulted in small natural gas leak, which they did return to fix as soon as we discovered the leak. Potentially very dangerous, but they did come to fix it within hours of contacting them. Fast forward to 2017 (3 years later), water heater stopped working and at the time of the sale, Mike had said he will extend the water heater warranty to 5 years labour and 10 years parts. Even though our contract stated there is 5 years labour and 10 years parts (as well as the original written quote), he is now saying the contract warranty is only for the furnace and that water heater labour warranty is only 1 year! So he wants us to pay for the labour for repair! These people are all talk when it comes to sales, and there is absolutely zero service! Buyer beware! If you do want to buy from The Furnace Room (even through Home Depot), better cross your fingers there is no defects! Because if there is, you absolutely will not be getting any warranty from them. They do not honour their warranty and promises! You are on your own and left out high and dry! What a big mistake in referring them to my parents!

We had only used ProGreen for the Spring and Fall blow out services. Overall the service is decent, though it really depends on who the technician is that comes by. Some are good, some are just plain awful. And unfortunately you are not allow to request a specific technician to come. If we can do have requests, a higher score is definitely warranted.

We bought a pair of Samsung washer and dryer from Tasco Richmond Hill in 2012. Overall sales with company was good. Price was decent. In terms of delivery, it was ok as well. But just like any other appliance companies, if you need service, it is between you and the manufacturer. Hopefully we won't be needing any service any time soon!

We had a home inspection done in 2012 by AGHI as recommended by our realtor. The initial thought was good as Brian went through the house relatively thoroughly. The report that came with it was extensive, though about 90% of the report were pre-written, and every customer gets the same thing. The problem came when we had a friend and contractor to check out the house before closing for some painting work. During the walk through, he noticed 80% of the marble tiles in the shower stall and bathroom are loose, something that Brian should have picked up easily, but did not obviously. By chance, our realtor's husband is a marble tiler. After we had him come by as well to take a look, he said the same thing. Loose tiles are easily detected by knocking on the tiles. At this point, we had already waived the conditions on our offer, so we cannot ask the seller/vendor to reimburse the cost of fixing the bathroom. We contacted AGHI/Brian with a complaint, which took days to get a hold of him. Once we got a hold of him, he did come back to take a look, but did not say anything throughout the entire second visit and only took pictures of the marble tiles. The resulting conclusion from Brian and AGHI was that they did nothing wrong and had provided the inspection service as described. All Brian and the report had mentioned was that the tiles need additional caulking. Caulking cannot fix the loose tiles! There was no apologies or any other compensations or gestures for such an oversight. These loose tiles ended up having to be completely removed and reattached. They were so loose that only 2 of the marble tiles were broken and rest can be reused! The tiles were easily removed with a suction cup device available from the local hardware store. The cost to remove the tiles and reattach = $2,600. AGHI should be reassessed by the licensing body to see if they are fit to continue offering home inspection service.
