We spent a substantial amount of time on product research before choosing Patterned Concrete to replace our asphalt driveway. We read consumer reviews and personally visited many completed jobs. We had previously used interlock stone for the driveways of other houses. While it initially looks great, eventually there are problems with settling, weeds, re-sanding, etc. We wanted to find a material that would be more or less maintenance free and that would continue to look good and hold up over time . By the time we made the decision to use poured concrete for the driveway and the walkway along the side of our house, we were convinced that it would be well worth the higher cost of this material. We felt that this was the product that would optimize the appearance of our property and add to its value. We were impressed with Patterned Concrete during all the stages of the project. During the first meeting an estimate was completed and all costs were clearly itemized. We were told what to expect and were given a comprehensive list outlining all the stages of the project, contact information, etc. There was no sales pressure to make a hurried decision, and in fact we asked for a second meeting before making up our minds. There was a subsequent meeting at the Patterned Concrete offices where we received further details and chose the style and colour for our driveway. We were given an estimated start date and the project was actually begun a bit earlier than we anticipated. Each stage unfolded exactly as expected. The only glitch was a rain delay which held things up for several days, but we had been told this could happen. There is a different crew for each stage of the project and in every case the work was done competently and efficiently. It's a much more detailed and labour intensive process than one might think. As the job unfolded we began to understand and appreciate the complexity and quality of the work for which we were paying a good dollar amount. The finished product has transformed the front of our house. We are pleased with the design, the colour, and the pattern we chose. We've lost count of the number of neighbours and passers by who have commented on the transformation. People have actually stopped their cars to get out and ask us questions. Next spring we'll finish the landscaping at the front and along the side of the house, and replace the exterior lights and the front doors. This will complete the exterior renovation of our property. The driveway project has been key to enhancing and optimizing the success of this project. As consumers, we are exacting in the standard of work we expect. We require value for each house dollar we spend. Patterned Concrete has given both value and quality. We'd work with them again without hesitation.
