We are very pleased with the quartz composite counters that were manufactured and installed by Stone Edge. The counters are beautiful, functional, and look like one seamless run, even though they are so long they had to be pieced together. The installers weren’t the most personable individuals, but the sales person was pleasant to work with, and the product was good. We would order from them again.

We hired Randy Frampton after seeing the excellent work he did on a friend’s kitchen, and we did not regret it. Our kitchen is not only beautiful at first glance, it’s solid, safe, functional, and beautiful right down to the details. Randy is one of those rare individuals who will take the extra time to make sure everything lines up perfectly, to source the exact same moulding you have in the rest of your house, even if he has to customize it, and who will just generally always go the extra mile (he talks [and delivers] about having things perfect or they’re not right.) Our situation was slightly unique in that my father has done a lot of kitchen renovations himself, and really knows construction, but because he’s getting older and lives 5 hours away, wasn’t able to do our kitchen himself. However, I knew he would be on site for some of the job “supervising”, and that whoever I hired would have to be able to work to my father’s very high standards and also get along with him. It was no small task, but I am delighted to say that my father was extremely pleased with Randy’s work (and his work ethic) and that the two of them got along wonderfully. Our job involved starting from bare studs (we did the demolition ourselves), moving the entrance to the kitchen (which involved a load bearing wall, and thus a support beam had to be installed), widening our front door (this involved work to support the brick), and then dealing with framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, etc. We brought in our own electrician (just because Randy was new to us and we had worked with this electrician before) but Randy would have brought in his if we hadn’t. For the flooring, Randy took care of all the supports and preparation, and then brought in someone to do lay the tile. Our cabinets and counters were installed by the companies that we purchased them from (if I was to do it again, I would have Randy customize IKEA cabinets instead of buying the semi-custom cabinets we bought elsewhere—I know we would have been just as happy with the cabinets and would have been much happier with Randy’s installation.) Randy then did all the interior finishing work, and arranged for a subcontractor to do some stucco work on the exterior (to finish where brick had to be removed for the front door expansion.) Overall, I would say that Randy is personable, reliable, and extremely sensible. He showed up when he said he was going to show up. He did the work he said he was going to do (and more,) within the timeframe he told us, and his prices were fair (I never had a complaint when paying a bill as I knew exactly what it was for and that it had been done to an excellent standard.) We have several other projects we will be hiring Randy for in the future, as soon as we have saved up enough in our renovation budget. We recommend 44th Parallel Contracting to anyone looking for quality work. If you’re looking for a bargain, go elsewhere, but if you’re willing to pay for something that is done right, give Randy a call.
