I went in to TUBS on the East Mall to browse toilets, it was only my 2nd look and was intending to just browse. I found it hard to get someone to help me (no one offered assistance, even though it was dead quiet), but when I had someone paged to help me he was very pleasant and knew his products. We have an old home with one tiny bathroom that is used by 4 people. He explained the options to me, and I didn't feel pressured at all to purchase anything. He took the time to print off the different options and notated the differences of the different options. I was walking out the door and turned around and bought it on the spot. When I went to the delivery bay to pick up my new toilet the man who worked there was exceptionally nice and courteous, and also obviously knew his stores products well. He was warm and efficient, and I left feeling like I had made a great choice. I was so impressed that they got me excited about buying a toilet! I will definitely return to TUBS in the future, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the store to others.

I went to Caplans looking to replace my finicky top loading washer & dryer with more efficient front loading ones. The salesman was pleasant, and showed me a pair out of their scratch & dent area. I got an amazing price on 2 great units, which a couple of years later I am still in love with. My only complaint: when they installed them the delivery people didn't switch the door on the dryer and it swings the wrong way. It tried to get a response from Caplans but didn't get my calls returned. Also, when I tried to buy a dishwasher from them last year I called them to see what they had - stating I was a repeat customer - and they seem quite indifferent to my phone call & gave me no information (even though I told them I live across town and wanted to make sure a trip in would be worth my while) so I ended up buying it elsewhere.

During some repairs to our basement we had to remove and reinstall our electrical panel to remove the styrofoam that it was installed on (it was attracting termites). Declan came highly recommended by friends who had used him to re-wire their entire home. He did not disappoint. The job required him to come and uninstall the electrical panel, and then return in short order upon work being completed by our carpenter to reinstall the panel. It was a small job, with the hassle of our carpenter needing approx. 1 hr of time to do his part in the middle of it. We also needed in done asap as it was holding up the rest of the project. Declan came on short notice and was willing to work around our timelines. He made me feel like he knew his stuff and a year later their has been no problem with the work he completed. I have already recommended him to a few friends and neighbours and everyone has been pleased with his work.

We first called Aetna in June 2009 when we discovered termites in our basement. They came highly recommended from other people who had used them, and they have not disappointed. We did the initial treatment, and always kept up our annual warranty. Unfortunately, our neighbourhood is termite central and they returned. They have retreated a few times and given us many suggestions on how to termite proof our house. After they returned for like the 4th time we finally waterproofed our basement and Aetna returned for many appointments throughout the process without complaint, always scheduling around our contractors stages of work. We have found the staff to be reliable, punctual and very friendly and have continued to recommend them to neighbours and friends. The waterproofing was what we needed to really get rid of them, and fingers crossed we haven't had the pleasure of an Aetna appointment since our last annual inspection!

We used the Carpet Mill in the Summer of 2009 to install new basement carpeting and underlay. 3 years later it still looks awesome. The installers arrived bright and early, and worked all day, barely taking breaks. We live in an old Victoria house and they spent a lot of time with the underlay to make sure that it would camouflage the uneven stair treads and wonky basement floor. The carpet we chose has a grid pattern to it and they seamed it off site and matched the lines exactly. They left us generous remnants, which we ended up needing 2 years later and were very grateful for. We were very happy with them 3 years ago on the install, and can vouch that their workmanship has stood up. I have recommended them to several friends and everyone has been very happy with them as well. I will definitely return.
