After a number of quotes and consultations with various companies, WOC stood out for their willingness to provide me with information, answer all my questions and address my concerns. They did a superb technical installation, were very efficient and put in the extra effort to ensure the job was completed properly. Home heated by converted cast iron boiler with oil burner. Oil delivery and annual maintenance performed by this company. Last year company recommended the installation of a flue liner. Cost $1,500. This year I received a letter stating that it's been 10 years since they inspected the oil tank, and that no oil would be delivered until an inspection was carried out, the result of which was that the tank was weeping oil and needed to be replaced. Cost $2,000. Had the tank been inspected the previous year, as they were supposed to do, I would have definitely considered switching to gas, and put the $3,500 (liner and oil tank) into a new gas high-efficiency system. As it is the $1,500 spent on a useless flue liner has gone up the chimney. Why didn't this company inspect the oil tank each year as they were supposed to do? I have put in considerable time investigating my options, which have resulted in the probable installation of a high-efficiency gas boiler. This work, needless to say will not be contracted out to Petro Partners (Frew Petroleum). The matter of $1,500 is still pending.
