Had a big ugly overgrown willow tree/bush fall flat after the snowstorm in November. Needless to say it had to go. In under 2 hours they had it cut up and in the garbage bin, and I have some firewood for the pit for next summer. Thanks guys!
After doing a minor refresh in our main bath with some new paint and fixtures, I realized the flooring was looking cracked and tired. Finding some closely matching lino to the existing tile was a challenge, but End Of The Roll had a great pairing. Install was done in an afternoon, and looks great. Thanks end of the roll!
Couldn't keep my fish from passing away repeatedly. A couple of trips to Big Al's, some water testing, some conditioning supplies, a biofilter top-up, some plants, and the fish are now happy and healthy. Good prices and better knowledge you find at the big box stores.
Broke the key off in our door lock. Had extra keys - inside! Locksmith was able to pull the broken key out without damaging or replacing the lock. Had extras cut, work great. Perfect company if you are in a bind.
Needed the windows on my home redone before winter hit. Tight timeline as other companies were quoting 6-12 weeks for install. Managed to get a timeslot 4 weeks out, install done in half a day, including a living room bay window.Needless to say I am impressed!

Fast service and good call center attendants. Prices were a bit higher than we expected, and the driver wasn't the most pleasent person to speak with, but he got the job done. If you have real junk you want gone, these are the guys to do it.
Got a nice call from my wife while up north, kitchen and bathroom sinks were not draining, plunging made no difference. Call to these guys had someone out the next morning, found the cleanout on the main drain line clogged. Good service, expensive.
Got our ducts cleaned for the first time with Four Seasons. Great outfit, showed up right on time, quick and courtious. I was shocked at the amount of dust they pulled from the cold air return line! Good company to keep things clean.
Needed a new door installed on my single car garage, old one was dirty, noisy and ugly. Got some good advice from the staff on insulated vs not, opted the cheaper route due to a detatched uninsulated garage, saved me some money. Install took less than 3 hours and works like a dream.
Air conditioner water tank repair
Broke the water tank resevoir on my portable air conditioner. Found Tom Moody on the manufacturer's suggested service depot list. A quick repair to replace the quick connect fitting and I was back up and working.
New tapset for an old bathroom
When doing some cleaning and caulking in our old bathroom, I tried to remove the OLD OLD OLD tap handles on the tapset in our tub. Needless to say I needed a new set. But every store only carries pressure balanced sets now. Not wanting to have to retile or replumb, I did some research and was directed to Barle & Gibson on Fort Road. They had the parts (tapset, cartridges, handles) I needed to match the old installation.
Lawn spring fertilizing service
Our lawn was looking pretty dreary after a long cold winter. After noticing Green Drop marker signs on another property in our area, I decided to give them a call. The following week they made the first fertilizer application and some spot weedkilling. Within 10 days the lawn was greener and the dandelions were wilting. By july we had a great looking lush lawn. The price is hefty, but worth it.
Fan motor vs. a whole new fume hood
Had the unpleasant experience of the fan motor in a fume hood dieing. After much time spent with hardware stores and googling part numbers, I gave up on a replacement. On a slow weekend, I opted to yank out the motor and take it into Amre. 5 minutes at the counter and I had an exact match in my hands for under $20 - a far cry from the $200+ a new hood would cost. If you DIY, this should be your first stop for parts.

This family oriented small nursery is tucked in the northeast corner of the city just off 50st and manning drive. The flower and plant selection beats out any of the 'big box' stores, and is the most convenient spot to grab some seedling spuds by the pound if you don't need a monster bag of them for your backyard. Good hours and friendly staff. Don't let the oddball road connections to the place scare you, just a few seconds off 167ave and you are there.
