We found everything we needed at Terra on Britannia, including garden plants, trees, outdoor flower pots, and a bird bath. Our new garden looks fantastic. They also have a wide variety of other outdoor decorations, including stone walls and fountains, as well as patio furniture. The prices range from inexpensive to quite high, but he most expensive items do seem to be top quality. The staff there also seem knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. They also have a loyalty card that can end up saving you money if you shop there frequently. There is also a warranty on many things there. When 2 of our trees initially didn't look like they were thriving (after about 6 months in our garden), we took them back along with the receipt and were given 2 new trees of any kind that we chose (in the same price range).

Our hot air didn't seem to be distributing evenly through the house, so we called Atlas based on a recommendation from our realtor (although we bought our house about 7 years ago now, we still contact our realtor for advice on home-case professionals because she knows a ton of services in Oakville and always recommends well). We were not disappointed. The man that showed up was really friendly and knowledgeable - he thoroughly investigated and fixed our air vents so that heat was redistributing properly. He told us in detail about how and when to change furnace filters, and answered any questions we had.

A review for Heritage Fine Furniture

This wasn't my first purchase from Heritage, and I doubt it will be my last. They have really high-quality furniture here, and they stand by it. The showrooms are well laid-out and give you a good sense of how the furniture will look when you get it home. The chair that I purchased is the most comfortable piece in my house, and one of the best looking. The couch that I bought a few years ago there has stood the test of time - it is a gorgeous leather couch that didn't cost nearly as much as it looks like it did! I love this furniture store and consider it one of the best in Halton.

A review for Concept Lighting

Very nice selection at this store. We had looked in Toronto (all over the place) and did not see anything nicer than we found here. And the prices were competitive with all other stores that we looked at. We ended up getting a gorgeous lighting fixture for our kitchen - they asked us what our space was like (i.e., size of kitchen, what other light was available in that room, etc.), and they recommended several options. We selected one based on their recommendation that seemed like it might be a bit too large, but it ended up looking just right in our kitchen. I will return there next time I need a fixture!

A review for Cascade Appliance Service Ltd.

I didn't know who to call when our dishwasher started working incorrectly, so I called Cascade based on a friend's recommendation. They were able to come the next day, and the repair person was friendly and knowledgeable. It took about 2 minutes for him to figure out what was wrong (clogged water spouts due to the soap we were using), and he fixed it without difficulty. Afterward he recommended some different soaps/detergents to use that would be less likely to build-up, and showed me how to unclog the spouts if I noticed that they were starting to get residue. I would use Cascade again.

Couldn't recommend this place more. Canvas Gallery was an 'accidental' find by my husband and I as we were looking for furniture in the Furniture District of Toronto. When we happened upon it, we couldn't believe our luck. Instantly upon walking in, it's obvious this place isn't your 'average' gallery. The quality and selection of the pieces is obvious - prices are reasonable for what you get. The atmosphere of the gallery is very relaxed and unpretentious; owners are obviously knowledgeable and committed to quality/customer service. I can't emphasize selection enough; we had a hard time choosing among all of the beautiful pieces. We'll continue to shop there for years to come.

This unique store in the furniture district was recommended to us by a friend. We don't live in TOronto, but we were told to make the trip to check it out, so we did. We were not disappointed. Walking into this store, you feel like a kid in a candy store. It's a feast for the eyes! After looking at 'ordinary' furniture stores, everything in G.H. Johnson's looks unique and one-of-a-kind. The shapes and colours of furniture are unique and specialized, but in a classy and subtle way. The staff are helpful but not overbearing, so you can spend as much time as you like just browsing. We ended up buying a desk and office chair for our office that we love. We have been asked many times by friends where they were purchased, as no one has ever seen anything 'quite like' them. I'd go back anytime to G.H. Johnson's, even just to look... but also definitely to buy. If you want unique furniture that will last a lifetime, check it out!

A review for Lela's Fine Furnitures

We bought a lovely glass table for our foyer from Lela's, after looking around extensively (Toronto, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton) for something that we wanted. We first spotted the table about 2 weeks before we bought it - we went to Lela's because we happened to see it when driving by one day and decided to take a look. We were treated very well when we entered the store - given any information that we wanted and then left to shop and look around. We didn't express interest in the table right away, but went back the next weekend and then a few days after that to look again and eventually buy it. Each time, we were treated really well by the staff (they didn't mind that we visited a few times and left without buying, and just reminded us that they'd be happy to help if we did finally decide to buy). When we did purchase the table in the end, they honoured a discount price that we had missed out on because we had lingered on our decision. The table is top quality and looks lovely in our home. I would recommend Lela's, as well as shop there again.

A review for Engel Moving, Storage & Services

Engel was a great choice for movers. After getting many quotes, we decided to go with them because they would offered a very reasonable estimate. They arrived on time, with 3 men, worked quickly and efficiently. They kept our new home (on the 'move in' side) very clean, rolled out mats where they were walking, etc., but still did everything quickly. They did not damage a thing. They honoured their quoted rate and we stayed way below what any other company would have charged us. In between old-and-new houses, they stopped for lunch, but told us in advance that they were doing this and that we would not be charged for the time. A+ for these guys!

A review for frontline home building inspections

Marco from Frontline was recommended to us by our realtor when we bought a new home in Oakville. He wasn't the 'cheapest' home inspector on the market, but we can certainly understand - in hindsight - why he was recommended. He took his time (a few hours) to do a thorough home inspection, pointed out the good and bad things (including things as small as water pressure when flushing toilets and running taps), and made solid recommendations. he also has been completely open to staying in touch afterward via email and phone - we have kept his contact information and contacted him several times for suggestions regarding home repairs and other home services. I'd recommend anytime to anyone!
