A review for Apex Window Films
I contacted Apex. They did a good job although because they are popular they were sometimes a little slow in responding. The installation was professional and well done. It took a few hours but that was just care.

A review for Excel Shades
Back in August, we contracted Excel Shades to put in blinds for our entire house. When giving a quote and that installation they were on time and responsive. The problems we had were after that. First of all, their recommendations of what to do were not the best solution to the issues we had. We wanted blinds that would black out a room but in our Master Bedroom the blinds they installed did not do that. What is more, they failed to install fasteners that would prevent the blinds from banging all night if the window was open. We complained about the latter but it took over 6 months for them to install the fasteners. In the end, they weren't a great solution and we will likely have to ditch the entire job for that room. Second, there were some issues with the blinds. Some were not installed perfectly while others were not of great quality and so broke easily. While Excel Shades did eventually come and deal with these things it was an excruciating process. It took them ages to respond to emails and phone calls. Sometimes weeks. Then they would make appointments and just miss them. Time and time again. Then when they finally come they would take away the faulty blinds for repair. They would claim to return in a week and then not be contactable again. The latest incident was the last straw. A blind in my daughter's room would not go the whole way down. It took three weeks for them to come. They took the blinds away and then it was a month of persistent missed appointments and calling before they turned up to replace it. It was supposed to take a week. In the meantime my daughter was waking with the light at 4:30am and not going to sleep until after 8:30. It was ridiculous. Our poor experience here reflects some of the poorer reviews on this site for Excel Shades. There is no excuse for this type of poor service. I can forgive issues with the blinds but missed appointments and unresponsiveness is not acceptable. I would not recommend them to anyone. If we have further issues we will likely just replace the blinds with someone reputable than go through all of this trouble.3 of 3 people found this review helpful.
A review for Levstein & Stern Plumbing Limited
Our insurer asked for this and we used Levstein and Stern. They did it quickly and professionally. Apparently I need more words here so I will keep writing a little more. Brevity is apparently not allowed.
Thanks Josh, better safe than sorry when it comes to potential flooding. You have a beautiful home and you don't want flooding if the power goes out during a storm. Battery back up sump pumps are a must.
A review for Kids Interior Design Store
We ordered our daughter's bedroom furniture from KIDS. While the furniture looks good and is of good value and the sales staff were helpful and knowledgable, the after-sales experience was poor. First, you need to be warned that only limited forms of payments are accepted. You need cash or a certified check. This is a pain in this day and age and one wonders why they have customers they don't trust to pay. Second, the delivery was poorly organised. We didn't get a call about a precise time and had to call back many times before getting someone to tell us (on the day) when they were coming. Third, the movers who came were quite unprofessional. They didn't introduce themselves, the bookshelf was wobbly and they said that was the way it was (because of the floor although that was not obvious) and we had to deal with it, and they left marks installing the other furniture. Fourth, we had a bed in the room that needed to be moved. We had to pay them $10 to move a simple mattress because there was only one adult there at the time. The KIDS manager took our complaint and will come out to fix the bookshelf issue but really it should have been handled by more customer-oriented movers at the time.

Although you seem to be upset about our standard payment terms; please note that in all cases we notify clients, prior to ordering, of our payment terms both verbally and in writing on the front of the invoice which is signed by the client prior to any deposit being taken. Also, although you seem to be concerned about the delivery time quoted; we give a morning or afternoon window of delivery time, but can not ensure a specific hour or minute as the length of time required to complete prior deliveries are always fluid. According to our records and the delivery slip which was signed at the completion of the delivery; we arrived within that window of time quoted. Further, the delivery services contracted for were completed. Any additional services are always paid for at an additional price as noted in the contract terms and conditions that were signed prior to placing the order. I apologize that the movers did not introduce themselves on arrival, but I am sure it became clear who they were quite quickly as they began to remove furniture from the truck. Although we visited your home and offered to fix any and all service issues; your wife indicated that the delivery was fine and that all the products were perfect, so no service was completed and your file was closed. I hope this clarifies the matter and that KIDS can be of further service in the future.
A review for Toronto Home Theater
I found out about Mike here on Homestars. He had a great set of ratings. Well and above anyone else. He didn't disappoint. Came in quickly and we had a theatre a week later. There were some issues that we had with the house but Mike treated it as if it was his problem and got the job done. Just terrific service. Highly recommended.0 of 0 people found this review helpful.
