We laid bamboo flooring over our original hardwood floors. We found King of Floors had a great selection and competitive pricing. They have a really nice showroom and a clearance section. The staff are also friendly and helpful.

We went to the store not expecting much but they had a great variety of items. We purchased some bifold closet doors and a top mount kitchen sink. It's certainly worth going to take a look. We also ended up giving some of the left over materials from our renovation to the store.

We purchased our kitchen and bathroom quartz countertops from Utopia Stone. They offer competitive pricing and great selection. I've never seen such a large selection of quartz and granite. They were a week late in delivering our countertops but it wasn't the end of the world. I'd recommend them anyone looking for a good price on quartz.

I purchased my bathroom floor tiles from Home Idol for a great price. The retail store itself is a mess and they have limited staff who are always busy so you have to be patient. Also, their selection is limited but if you find something you like, the prices are good.

A review for HBD Construction

I hired this Contractor from his ad on Craigslist to install the vinyl to my deck. His name is Makhan and he's based out of Surrey. Within a few days it started bubbling. I called him back and he said it was normal and that it will go away in a few days. After a few days, it still didn't go away. So I tried calling him again. He didn't pick up so I left him a message. I repeatedly tried calling him for months. He ignores my calls and doesn't return my messages. I had another deck guy come to have a look and he tells me that Makhan didn't install it properly in the first place. So beware of this Contractor. I'm going to explore the possibility of taking him to small claims court. It is amazing how little integrity he has.

A review for WUPA Contracting Ltd.

After getting several quotes, we decided to go with WUPA Contracting to renovate our basement and we're so glad that we did. The General Contractor, Doug, was extremely helpful and professional at every step of the reno. He suggested that we change our original layout that we planned to give us options i.e. give us the option to keep a den for ourselves and have a good size mortgage helper. He then brought us several samples of materials at each stage so that all I had to do was pick the colour I wanted - soooo much easier than having to go out and shop for everything myself. Doug also made it easier to choose the materials by giving us the "CONS" of each in addition to the pros e.g. I was going to go with dark laminate floors until he pointed out that I would have to clean more often, as dark floors show dust and pet hair - and that I would need high-priced underlay if I wanted to sound-proof the basement. I ended up going with cork floors because they act as a sound barrier.

We replaced all of the sing-paned windows of our older home with new double-paned, vinyl windows from Oasis Windows. The salesperson got back to us with a quote in a timely manner. We placed the order. Two weeks later the windows arrived - exactly when the Company said it would arrive. The windows were very well made and very well priced, the best price we found. The fact that the service is great and they deliver when promised made ordering from them a pleasant experience. I've dealt with A LOT of contractors and suppliers who almost never deliver on time so when I find one that does, I'm very loyal.

A review for A-Class Doors Ltd

We purchased a custom front entry door. The company took my card and after WEEKS of ignoring our phone call, they finally deliver the door. However, we ordered a mail slot and the door they delivered didn't come with one. We have been trying to call them to correct the issue but they once again are ignoring our calls. The receptionist told me to contact the sales person and the sales person doesn't pick up the phone and doesn't return voicemail. The door itself is fine (hence the 2 stars); however, the service is absolutely horrible.
