For Hotwire and for the rest of people who likes to play with words ACP is a privilege granted from ESA to electrical contractors ( not that you are any elite electric company or your company gets special terms ). Many other companies had ACP before you even knew about it, funny ah !
How you get it ( an electric contractor most have 20 inspections passed and in that amount they only are allow to have 1 defect and then they can apply to the ESA offices for ACP then the ESA gives the contractor a 6 months test period if the pass the they get ACP and how it works is that sometimes the inspector won’t come to the inspection do to they are extremely busy and when an electrical contractor calls for 3 inspections ( rough in, service and final ) they will show up to 1 only but they will decide which one. Yes watch for contractors without an electric license or general contractors they are not reliable just like people or companies that plays with words just to put some cash in their pockets. But also watch for companies that pretend or insinuate that they are the best because that’s the costumers right not them.

Thats actually not correct. Why not call ESA and ask how the ACP electrician’s are top tier. So it sounds like you are a bit upset. ACP is an honour YES. Seems you failed to get ACP and you are a bit bitter. We are ELITE in terms with ACP, we work extremely hard to maintain this ACP level that can be taken away should we lower our standards to any non-ACP company out there. Our defect ratio must be extremely low while others non-acp companies can get as many defects as they want and still be ESA contractors as they have nothing to lose. ACP allows us the rights that others do not have, such has hydro allows us pre-authorizations to disconnect power lines without them HUGE HUGE HUGE, allows us smoother transitions to do inspection you are right about that. We are so good that the inspectors would rather be busy finding bad workmanship elsewhere based on our track record with them for YEARS!!!! and it allows all the clients and builders to have a faster inspection and thus move through their construction without delays. We are glad to be ESA licensed and ACP members and we take our work very seriously. I would appreciate all the other ACP electrician’s out there to comment here as our work is taken very seriously and someone here is obviously bitter that the standards to be ACP are very high and to maintain it is very hard. HOTWIRE ELECTRIC 416-553-5533 we love what we do and we love our clients and the ACP is FOR THEM! Thank you for your comment and if you need an ACP electrical contractor you can see us featured in OUR HOMES MAGAZINE page 46 and contact us anytime for free estimates.

ACP is a privelege. Envirotech Electrical Services is ACP with a zero deficiency rate. And the same as Hotwire, we try to keep that rate as low as possible. The inspector appreciate it, the customers appreciate it, as they know that the job will get done properly.

Thank you Mark. and congrats on your ACP status. Its not an easy task to achieve by any means. I wish more homeowners would be aware that a licensed electrician with a 309a license can not perform any electrical work in Ontario unless they are ESA licensed contractors and furthermore many electrician lie and use someone else’s contract id with esa to pull permits. I hate to see how this is becoming the norm. I always tell our customers to go to esa site and see that we are listed on their website for authorized electrical contractors. This site is a good tool for such research and to see that customers can find good electricians here. All the best from the Hotwire Team
