parging concrete on the outside of my home

I have had several contractors come out and give me a quotation. Now I am very confused because some are saving just to concrete and some are saying to have to put a mesh first and then put concrete. I don’t no who to believe and what is the proper way to parge. My home has paint on the outside. I know the paint has to be removed. I just don’t know if I need to put the mesh or not. If anyone know what is the proper way please let me know. Thanks

The only reason to add mesh is if the surface is painted (and you are not removing the paint) or unstable (powdery/crumbling).

What part of Scarborough are you in? I am finishing up a project near Danforth Road and Eglinton tomorrow, I can put in a quote if you would like.
