If I am not mistaken, the BBB is a business, just because a company is not mentioned, whether good or bad, just means that they are either not a member, or no one has acknowledged them on there.

You’re right Mark. I have dealt with some smooth talking people who are members in good standing at the BBB. EJ please use all of the available tools at your disposal to find the contractor that you can work best with. Use Homestars, your gut instinct and ask for references. Contact those references and ask if you could come by to have a look at the work with the potential contractor. If you find a good contractor who is a member of the BBB all the better as I know some top notch ones who are but I am not one.
Good luck.

I should clarify…I am not member of the BBB that is, I am a top notch contractor though.

you have to pay for sites like the BBB to be on there, if a contractor has to pay for all these fancy sites it will easily run the company $1000 a month and that dont include the rest of the marketing, which can be in the $5k range, this means overhead goes up and labour price goes up, only to end up jobless as the company is to expensive

BBB calls us every month asking and making special offers to join them for a fee per month. They are a business thats making money off businesses being posted there. There is no credibility and have you ever tried to launch a complaint with them, its a joke

Ditto Hot – they are like any other company, out to make a buck. Call us monthly. I launched two compaints as a home owner and they said “sorry they are not paying companies so we cannot dictate what they do”. BBB has been around forever, I may call Walmart next time and tell them my complaint, atleast the lady on the ohone will be friendly to me and greet me well!
