Our contractor (listed on this site and I cannot wait to write my review on him) left us high and dry on our basement reno. It started off good but went very sour near the end when he would only show up once a week and then eventually not showing up at all. No phone calls, no communication at all.
We are about 75% complete and need our basement leveled to install Porcelain. Also some trim, bathroom completion etc.
Can anybody recommend an honest contractor who has worked with basement levelling and porcelain installation?
Our original contractor is listed on this site and has a 10 rating. Not sure why.

Follow up.
His name is Paul Amrit and he totally screwed us. Don’t believe the other reviews. We believe they are written by his relatives/friends. He is not to be trusted and is a very smooth talking con-artist.
It started as a good relationship. After the demo was complete and he received his first couple of payments his crew started to show up less and less during the weeks.
We started to notice that the work was sloppy and corners were being cut. The last straw was when he attempted to lay laminate floors on our very uneven basement floor without leveling it first. No joke it was like walking on a trampoline not to mention the laminate was all scratched up. He made excuses for the work saying “don’t worry if you leave it for a few months it will flatten out” etc. etc.
We made it very clear how unhappy we were and that this work was not acceptable. He pretty much bailed when we made him take up the floor and he realized that most of his profit would have been eaten up when he would have had to do it properly and to code. After this barely any work was done and it was excuse after excuse.
Shortly after he took off to India and never came back or contacted us. He has since changed all of his numbers and disconnected him home line as well so we have no way of contacting him.
He owes us approximately $5,000 for work we have already paid for and that is not complete. This was money that we worked very hard for and saved over a long period of time. We hired him under Unique Basements and he has now changed his company name to Unique Basements and Builders Inc. and his website is: www.ubbinc.com.
Feel free to contact us by email if you are using him and have further questions. Again, very disappointed in how it turned out and really thought highly of him until the truth unfolded.
