Great response on phone and almost immediate appointment. Fine repair. Lower fee than estimated. Have recommended this supplier and home stars.ca to others. Also intial grat advise from Peter Pambis who was very helpful but not free the week needed.

The manifold for my furnace was leaking profusley. I had contacted Peter with Modern Appliances and had him come and inspect my furnace. I was now preparing myself to have Peter tell me I need a new furnace. Peter came to my home and quickly and professionly diagnosed my problem to be a simple clog in my condensate hose. What a relief. While there he tuned up my furnace. Thanks Peter.

I had a fridge that was slowly dripping a bit of water so I contacted Peter based on the reviews on Homestars. I was able to set up an appointment via e-mail and Peter showed up right at the agreed upon time. He was able to fix the problem quickly and did some preventative maintenance to ensure that it didn't happen again in the future. Great work, nice guy. Highly recommend!

8-year old refrigerator emitted a buzzing noise... told by a technician from another repair company that "the compressor is not starting" and needs to be replaced for $680+labor! Glad I then contacted Peter of Modern Appliance Repair, who was courteous & professional and arrived within the appointment window. Turned out it was a much smaller problem -- he simply replaced the relay and performed an overload test. Everything's working fine now and he saved me a lot of money! Highly recommended.

I was very impressed with Peter. He was extremely professional- he returned my call and email right away, showed up on time, provided a quote shortly after he visited my home, and was very nice. It was easy to work with Peter, and I felt I could trust him as his prices were fair, and he actually showed me what the problem was, and explained why it needed to be fixed. Peter was knowledgeable about all of the components and workings of my appliance as he said he had many many years of experience (20). If I ever need an appliance fixed in the future, I will be sure to call Peter from Modern Appliance. Thank you!

Peter promptly returned our call to service a dryer that was working but making loud scraping sounds. He offered a diagnosis, ordered the parts and came exactly at the time agreed. After pulling the dryer apart, he concluded it wasn't worth the expense of the repairs and he charged for a service call only. He was very pleasant, honest and made helpful suggestions about possible replacement brands. Will definitely call him again.

My fridge died in the condo that I am renting so my landlord fowarded me this website and told me I should contact Modern Appliance. I got a call from Peter the next day after submitting an on-line request and he set up an appointment with me for two days after. Like we had arranged, he called me at work ten minutes prior to him getting to my place that day so I could hop up and meet him: he was right on time. Peter had the foresight to ask me the make of my fridge and came prepared with some items already in hand as replacements. This strategy worked very well because there was some electrical component not working and with that little piece already in his tool case, he changed that and the fridge was back to being a fridge again. What impressed me was Peter's patience and knowledge. He knows his work exceptionally well and did not mind me asking him a dozen or so questions. As my landlord was going to reimburse me, Peter insured that the receipt that I was going to give to my landlord did not have my credit card information on it--that was very thoughtful. Should I ever need any future repairs, I am glad that I have his card because he will be the first person that I will contact. Robin
