We have a 100 year old home that had damp basement walls and a very uneven and cracked concrete floor. Darby and his team removed the old floor, excavated out 6 inches of soil, replaced the soil with gravel and then installed a membrane and weeping tile system to manage the moister on the walls. They then poured a new concrete floor. From start to finish, Darby and his team did an excellent job. Darby was very quick to answer questions prior to construction and was excellent communicating with me throughout the process. His team is courteous and friendly and made sure to keep us abreast of the progress. I have already recommended the Mud Monkey's to one friend, and will do so again when the opportunity arises.

Mud Monkeys provided exceptional service form beginning to end. They were patient and knowledgeable in helping us to identify our needs and in developing a plan. They communicated with us regularly and were thoughtful and very fair in fixing minor problems that came up during the job. They exceeded our expectations. If you are looking for someone to waterproof your house, you can trust this expensive and important service to Mud Monkeys. Thanks Darby!

We have had Mud Monkeys do 2 waterproofing jobs for us - one on the outside, fixing up a botched job from another contractor, and one on the inside to install drainage in the basement. They are highly competent and professional, they stay on time and budget, and leave the work area clean. They go above and beyond in lots of ways, and are very responsive. Thank you Darby!

They were excellent in every respect. Friendly, efficient, forthcoming with information and good about cleaning up at the end. It was a huge job, but they went out of their way to bother us as little as possible.

We recently had a leak in the basement and I had the top 5 companies listed on HomeStars come in and take a look. Three of the companies suggested waterproofing the corner from the outside and the quotes I was given were all over the place. The Mud Monkeys' quote was right in the middle and after speaking with a number of people, all of which had experience with this type of work, their quote seemed the most reasonable and accurate. Darby was fantastic and answered all of the questions I had and came by a number of times to check on the work his guys were doing. He took the time to call me out and show me the problem and explain in great detail the work they did. The younger guys that did most of the heavy work were incredibly nice and answered all the questions I had. They arrived when they said they would and the project took as long as they said it would. They also did a great job ensuring they did not damage my property and cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend this company to everyone.

I had no idea what I was getting into when our basement had water in it. Darby met me at the house and explained exactly where the water was coming from and why. He stood by his timeline and quote. I have no reservations recommending Darby and his crew. Great job!

We've had many contractors work on our house over the past few months, and Darby and his crew were the best by far. They were always on time, very respectful of our house and yard, were personable and easy to talk with, took the time to explain their work at each stage, and nothing seemed to phase them when dealing with the hidden surprises of an old house. They were also great with our curious little dog. We had multiple quotes on the work and Darby's was very competitive. They did exterior waterproofing on two sides of the house, fixed up issues that were uncovered in our foundation (as in, we didn't really have one on some parts of the house), and interior waterproofing and a sump pump in a cold room under our porch. It poured a couple days after they had completed the work and some water still managed to get into the basement. We contacted them and they came out the next day to remedy it (I think they ended up digging deeper and extended the interior waterproofing) and we haven't had any issues since. They also followed up on their work a few weeks after this to make sure we were happy. 6 months later and we're still impressed with their work and would recommend them to anyone.

I can't say enough about this company on the work they did for us this summer. They were so professional, reliable, honest and more then happy to explain to me the work being done. There were many challanges with our house and the team did a fantastic job. I wound not hire anyone other then Mud Monkeys and recommend them for any waterproofing work.

Mud Monkeys worked carefully and quickly. They solved the water problem, leaving the backyard in perfect condition. They finished the work punctually and were clear about their guarantee. So far, their work weathered several storms with no problems.

WATERPROOFING

Tired of mopping the water in your basement? Does your basement smell of mould and mildew? Is your foundation wall retaining water slowly and deteriorating? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, then the following will describe the reasons why, and how, to eliminate the problem. The cause of your basement's musty smell is because your foundation wall is retaining water, be it in the hollow block cavities or trapped behind the double brick or stone wall, as well as the water that is absorbed by the block, brick and stone. This combination causes the wall to produce mould, mildew and epharecense. The water trapped in the wall slowly deteriorates the wall, starting at the bottom. The water that makes its way into the basement through the wall and seems to cause us the most grief may not be the most concerning problem. The same problem will not occur with a solid poured concrete wall. The reason being you will find a defined crack in the solid wall that allows all the water to enter in, without retaining little, or any water.Regardless of which type of foundation you have, it can become watertight, mould and mildew-free by sealing your foundation from the OUTSIDE. With solid poured concrete foundations, you can inject the crack from the inside and the elements stay out.You must expose your foundation wall from grade level to 6" below the top of the footing. Then you must clean the wall thoroughly, exposing the deteriorated areas and cleaning all the dust and dirt from the wall. Then, restore any cracks or loose mortar joints with hydrolic cement. Cement coat the wall,Tar and install 6mm poly plastic on top. Once the wall is treated, install a 4" continuous weeping tile covered with 6 inches of 3/4" stone. Then back-fill the earth compacting at every foot. At grade level slope the earth, concrete, interlocking etc. away from the house. This method never fails. I have used this system over 13 years without fail. I have the references for you to refer to. We also have a photo album to take you step by step through the procedure. So, stop mopping! Relieve your allergies from mold and mildew and restore your foundation. When you do decide to restore your foundation do it the right way - from the outside. Remember, 40% of all my work is fixing other people's attempt to stop the water.
