My name is Maria and I live in Richmond BC. We were looking for a company that does home window replacement and installation. My good friend Gino told me about Astara windows and doors, the company that he had used for renos years ago. Since my friend gave this company an excellent review, we decided to buy our new windows and have them installed by Steve and his company. Steve and his crew just finished the project last week. They are all very caring, professional, punctual, and very funny guys. Safety is very important to Steve and he cares about his staff and the work that they do. He is the safety officer of his company. No talking is allowed when the crew is working. Priorities and safety first!! Talking is only allowed when staff are on their breaks and still, not for very long, as they are very efficient workers. We are so thankful for Steve and his crew. They did a beautiful job and cleaned up after themselves every night before taking off. Steve and his crew really take pride in their work and it shows. We are very happy with our new windows and would recommend Steve and his company to anyone. Thank you Steve and crew. We look forward to working with you guys on our next project.

When I asked for recommendations for a window and door company, our friends raved about their amazing experience with Astara. Our experience working with Steve and his team exceeded our expectations - which is impressive considering we went in with high expectations based on the referral. Steve's extensive experience and commitment to quality workmanship was evident from the first meeting right through to project completion, which included replacing about 26 windows and our front doors.

A few of our windows were particularly challenging as we had rounded wood arches. Steve's team developed a customized solution for the frames that looks fabulous. The superb workmanship was matched with their reliable, friendly, service-focused approach to our project.
Steve was extremely responsive, answering questions and explaining his process and recommended approaches every step of the way. We enjoyed having his team around the house while they worked, which is an added benefit when crews are working daily in your home. They kept the work areas clean, and tidied everything up at the end of each shift.

Steve was also very helpful as we worked through the requirements for the available grant programs as we had selected more energy-efficient windows. It was a pleasure working with Steve and his crew, and we have noticed the significant improvements in terms of window performance. Our house stayed cooler through the summer heat, and has remained warmer (and cozier) this winter. I highly recommend Astara Windows and Doors to others.

A few years ago, a friend of mine recommended Steve and his company to replace our windows. We had multiple different companies come and give estimates. Steve wasn't the cheapest nor the most expensive.
When Steve was at our house to gather the measurements for the windows, he was here for 3 hours. We went to each window and he would discuss every option for the window. Whether it was non-opening, a slider or a double-hung. He was patience and suggestion about which option to choose.
Steve's crew were always professional. They kept the inside and outside of the house very clean and organized.
We have had Steve come out to repair a few screens with no problem. I have recommended Steve and his company to family members who were just as satisfied as we were with his work.

Steve and his staff at Astara Windows did an amazing job replacing our windows. From the estimate process, Steve was very kind and transparent in explaining the different options and their costs. Based on our feedback, he gave us very helpful suggestions so we could make the best decision for ourselves. During the preparation and the actual job, he was very detail oriented, informed us of the process and often went the extra mile to complete the job with a very high standard. We are very satisfied with the result and his amazing work.

Steve, owner of the company, is completely dedicated to the projects he takes on. We needed new doors and windows in our house, and from our first meeting, Steve took the time to really explain his process and ideas very thoroughly. He gave a lot of background info and several options for us. Our house is over 100 years old, and the floors and walls are definitely not straight. Steve and his team took the time and made the effort to really make sure everything fit perfectly. I know it was not an easy job, and there were several very long days for Steve and the team. Not only that, but they always showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves. Steve even stopped by months after the project was complete to follow up on the windows, cleaning them and making sure everything was still great. The doors and windows look amazing! They work perfectly and fit with the character of our heritage home!

We recently had several wood windows replaced that had failed due to age and weather exposure. The replacements needed to match the style and colours of the existing windows, but we wanted a more durable option. Steve, the owner of Astara Windows, was able to recommend a vinyl replacement that matched perfectly. As well, he and his team did an excellent job installing them which included all of the interior and exterior carpentry and trim work, colour matching and painting. The end result was the new windows blended seamlessly into the look of the house - both inside and outside - but were much more durable and built to last. Steve is very particular and exacting in his work, yet is very easy-going to talk to and takes the time to explain everything. We were constantly updated on timing of everything and there were no surprises along the way. His crew were also polite and respectful of our home space - hardly knew they were there half the time they were so quiet. They were really nice to our bratty wiener-dog and worried about making sure she didnt get out of the yard when the gate was open. So nice! This was the second time we have used him for window replacements, and will no doubt use him again in the future. It feels like you are in good hands with this crew!

3 years ago I had kitchen an bathrooms renovation, it was a nightmare, kitchen is already falling apart, after such an awful experience I trusted my neighbour with her recommendation regarding changing my windows. I could not be more thankful for her suggestion, Steve and his team were amazing every step of the way, always on time, always respectful of our home space and on time for everything that was promised; he is a very detail oriented person and a perfectionist, everything has to work and look great and it does!, it is not 'just a job' for Steve, it really provides the whole experience.
The team have worked together for years so they really work like a well oiled machine and my house was always clean. By the end of the job everything was perfectly clean, way beyong than I would have ever expected. Thank you Steve and team, I look forward to have you working on my next siding endevour next year!

Approx 5 years ago I met Steve when we were looking to start the process of replacing our windows. From the moment my wife and I met Steve on our initial consultation it was clear to us that his attention to details and thorough explanation of the process set him so far apart from his competition that we chose to go with him .Well here we are 5 years on and his company has replaced all our windows , doors and this summer painted our house . I am in the construction industry and have to say that him .. all his crew are of the highest quality that is very rare .In an industry that relies on speed and rarely quality Steve and all his employees set a gold standard.

Our close friends used Astara Windows in 2012 to update their doors and windows during a large renovation. They fully recommended Steve and always commented of his meticulous attention to detail during their renovation. We knew from our initial consultation with Steve that we had the right guy for our window installation. We were so impressed with his knowledge not only about windows, but his background in design, architecture and what was best suited for our home. Most importantly, we trusted him. We cancelled all other previously booked consultations with other window companies.
Once we ordered our windows, Steve kept us apprised of the timeline and continued to discuss finishing designs and options. From the moment Steve and his crew arrived, we were impressed with the professional, neat and organized job site. All of our belongings were very carefully put aside and their workspace was set up and remained meticulous throughout the installation.
Steve routinely would show, explain and educate us on the installation process. Steve kept us informed each day of what was going to happen next and continued to provide options. As a result, we did modify some design specs with casings and other finishings. Having an older home, Steve took the time to consider what finishing would look best, even going to the effort of cutting various sample moulding sizes to let us have a first hand look and to make informed decisions, all for the purpose of ensuring our happiness with the finished appearance. Steve noticed that some wood siding was in need of replacement and offered to fix it for us while the scaffolding was up. At the end of each work day, the site was tidy and there was not a speck of dust to be found. As a result, we were able to live normally while under construction.
Steve’s crew was very thorough, professional and were true craftsmen. I had a good conversation with one of Steve’s experienced installers. He spoke very highly of Steve as he had worked for Steve throughout the years. He told me that I would not find a more meticulous and customer oriented window company than Steve’s.
We have had our new windows in for over a month now and we are beyond happy with the final product. The finishing work inside and out is perfection. We have had family, neighbors and friends comment on the quality of Steve’s work. Steve’s attention to detail and perfectionism is very evident when looking at the finished job. It truly felt like Steve was working on his own home. He cared about every step along the way and nothing felt rushed. We would recommend Steve and Astara Windows to everyone. We are beyond grateful for his crew’s work, knowledge and kindness to our family during his time working in our home.

Steve is AWESOME. Not only was the quality of his work magnificent, (He has more of an eye for detail and perfection than even I do, and it is my house!) he goes above and beyond. I had some missed/poorly done spots from my previous renovation, and he just went ahead and fixed them all for me (he checked with me first of course) Steve was vey communicative about schedules and timing, very respectful of our space, and even had one of his guys keep our dog entertained the one day we could not get him daycare! You are in great hands with Steve.

We originally planned to go with Renewal by Anderson, as we didn't know anything about windows, and are glad we switched. He was also MUCH cheaper (Saved us over 20 grand!) for a better quality job (we looked at some Anderson jobs afterwards).
