Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Testing
If you have family members who are having health issues and you are not sure why or how they got sick, you may want to consider having an air quality test done. Indoor air quality testing is the first step to finding out if you have elevated levels of mold in your home. By exposing hidden mold and moisture issues, you can stop air quality issues before they become more serious problems.
Limzak Environmental Services collects air samples and contaminant swabs that are then analyzed by a laboratory. The laboratory produces a lab report which your inspector will then bring back to you, when the results will be discussed and a further plan of action developed, if needed.

Toxic (Black) Mold Inspection
Mold comes in a variety of colors. Toxic mold is often associated with black mold, but hazardous mold can come in a variety of colors, including gray or brown. Ventilation problems, poorly installed or insufficient insulation, and incorrect venting of bath fans and dryers are the biggest contributors to attic mold. Sure fiberglass insulation is mold resistant, but the paper backing that holds it on is not!! We'll pull back the fiberglass insulation to expose any potential areas of mold growth. Asbestos Testing
Asbestos poses health risks when fibres are present in the air that people breathe. When inhaled in significant quantities, asbestos fibres can cause asbestosis (a scarring of the lungs which makes breathing difficult), mesothelioma (a rare cancer of the lining of the chest or abdominal cavity) and lung cancer (Health Canada, 2008). Until the 1970s, many types of building products and insulation materials used in homes contained asbestos. My bargain-basement house purchase may not have been such a bargain after all. I just found out that it used to have a marijuana growing operation (MGO) in it. Should I be worried? You betcha! When a house is turned into an MGO, the greenhouse created produces high levels of humidity. This high humidity is a prime breeding ground for mould to grow inside the structure.

Meth Labs
I got a great deal on my house. Then I found out it used to be a meth lab! Should I worry? Illegal clandestine drug labs may pose a health threat to unsuspecting home buyers or renters.
