A design idea for the wall unit in our living room came together with help from magazine photos and previous work done by Malcolm and Roland. We specified that our wall unit had to be built using the most environmentally-friendly products and finishes, and Malcolm got to work sourcing them. We have had many compliments on the end product which is absolutely beautiful! We highly recommend working with Malcolm to have your dream design come to fruition. Last year, Malcolm (Skip) Mcgrath worked with us on two kitchens…one in the house we were selling and onein the house we were moving into. He re-surfaced the cupboards in both as well as did some custom work. We were stunned at the final results! Excellent! Skip gave us several options and supplied appropriate samples. His guidance was a huge help. He also worked within tight deadlines which we really appreciated. We have a great deal of respect for Skip’s professionalism and his craftsmanship and would highly recommend him to anyone.

With a limited budget, we wanted to find a way to renovate our 70-year-old kitchen to give us more storage space and an updated feel; however, we did not want to rip out all of the existing wooden cabinetry and replace it with the cookie-cutter, particle-board cabinetry that is all too common in kitchen renovations. We were very fortunate to find Malcolm (Skip) McGrath, whose workmanship provided upgrades that exceeded our expectations. He designed and built a cabinet for the sink area with storage that allows us to sort and store our grey-bin and blue-bin garbage; the cabinet also includes pull-out drawers for food storage. Skip also increased the functionality of our adjoining breakfast nook by creating a floor-to-ceiling pantry, a built-in bookcase and a large wrap-around seating area that provides a combination breakfast bar and computer station. All of the cabinetry that Skip built matches perfectly the existing cabinetry in our kitchen, complementing our original kitchen design. Skip uses only the best-quality material, stays within budget, gets the work done quickly, and never fails to return telephone calls and emails. We would have absolutely no hesitation in using Skip again and in recommending his services to others.

Malcolm (Skip) was extremely punctual and fair in all of my dealings with him. He was upfront and gave timelines that were adhered to - to the day. His meticulous attention to detail and quality are amazing........ and all for a very competitive, fair price. His company especially shines whenever there is woodwork involved (cabinetry, etc....). I have been in the construction industry for the past 30 years and am a very knowledgeable consumer when it comes to cabinetry and millwork. We did a complete basement renovation and turned our unfinished basement into a beautiful living space. Having made a significant investment, we wanted the finishing touches to match the high-quality look of the rest of the renovations. I hired Malcolm McGrath (aka “Skip”) to build and install custom book shelves, a fireplace mantel, built in storage cabinets and two work desks for our children to do homework at. What a great decision. Skip did most of the work off-site at his shop, so there was no mess at our house. When it all arrived at our house for installation, we loved the look. The interiors of the cabinets were finished in clear maple and the exteriors in satin white. The quality of the work is exceptional. The finishing lacquer has a beautiful smooth feel to it that mass produced cabinets never have. The cost of the work was only a little more than what mass produced Home Depot cabinets are (and theirs are press board crap, not solid wood like Skip built). The value we received was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. Skip is a true professional, which is often missing in the residential renovation market. Thanks Skip.
