Review from John Cachia Review left on 6 Jan 2018Rating: 0 out of 5I hired Jimmy because I knew him and had sold him a car. He came over in July 2016 and sold me on 5 star service platform to redid an existing tiny washroom in my basement. I am writing this review January 6 /18 and my washroom is still not finished. In November he told me he wasn’t coming back because he was to busy working do Marks Work Warhouse. What a night mare after giving him $5,000.00 up front. I never got a contact because he was a supposed friend. Every thing was a disaster. He came and redid some time. The plumbing was totally screwed up the electrical was a mess, cabinet would not open properly. The doors hit the trim. I have hired someone else to repair all his mistakes. I am today tiring to hook up the light but it has no power to the wire and doesn’t even have a wire roughed into the box. After calling him 4 times and he wouldn’t answer I texted him saying I had to ask him about his wiring. He finally called. After describing the power issue the phone was silent. I told him I have taken all the fixture down looking for the fantom wire. I told he more than welcome to show me where it is. I was told he doesn’t know when he could come. There were so many screw ups you couldn’t count. I should been happy with my old bathroom enstead if his suppose 5 star service. It cost way more than the two thousand dollars that was outstanding as the the shower door and lots of other finishing product drywall paint screwed up tiles in shower, floor not finished ,trim and paint. Review left on 21 Nov 2013Rating: 0 out of 5Small bathroom renovation
What a horrible and traumatic experience, I would not recommend The Construction Group to my worst enemy. We employed them to do a renovation on our 7x7 bathroom, were quoted 2 weeks for the work to be done - it is now five months later and the job was just completed. It was obvious that our job was an oversight - there was no detailed plan for work, long delays in getting materials in, days and weeks when nobody was in our house doing work at all, and lots of shoddy mistakes (the tile in the bathtub had a 3 foot crack a couple weeks after installation, a knee-wall was shored up with an inch and a half of plaster, etc.). "Renovantage," aka the design center, took forever to order things in, and completely failed to communicate the details of our design plan to the actual trades. Project Manager was a hopeless mess, full of weak excuses for poorly done work and long delays. When it came time for billing, the invoices were vague, incorrect, and the company outright refused to provide a detailed breakdown of work done and what it cost. This job cost 2x the average recommended fee for a comparable renovation - we thought we were paying for a high-end job and a "risk-free reno," and all we got was a slap in the face. The best thing we will take from this experience is a lesson in what never to do again. Every time I go into that room all I can think of is what a horrible, painful experience this has been (outside of Rosie, the office manager, who is an asset to their team). Avoid this company at all costs.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Thank you so much for the job you did renovating our bathroom. The finished product looks amazing -- actually better than I could have imagined! Rosie, your office manager, was superb, responsive and always kept us informed every step of the way. Your trades people were expert, neat, prompt and courteous. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending your firm to anyone looking for a contractor.Answer from pro:
Thanks for the kind words. I think shortening up the shower stall and adding the glass wall made all the difference in the world. The bathroom looks much larger, even though the footprint hasn't changed. I'm glad that you are happy with it.

Review left on 20 Nov 2011Rating: 5 out of 5Second floor addition and garage
Initially, we have hired a well advertised contracting company to build our addition and when things went south and we saw our dreams going down the drain, by referral, we got in touch with The Construction Group. Second time around, we did a thorough research on the company's background, regardless that a close colleague had used them before and had only praising things to say about their job. We decided to go with them, and it was the smartest decision we've made. We are thrilled with the finished product. TCG has done a magnificent job and their customer service is something that we would like to emphasize in this review. Their focus was on fulfilling every request of ours. We were probably not the easiest clients they've had and we used every opportunity to recognize their efforts, but they stood up to the task. We love our home and we got exactly what we hoped for. The price, timing and quality of work were exactly what they have promised the first time we interviewed them. We would be very happy to recommend them and if there is ever a need, we will surely hire them again.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

I am glad we are all done now and that I can write this review in my new basement office. The Construction Group has done a fenomenal job, on time and within the budget we were given with the final pricing. The feared job of dealing with paperwork and getting necessary permits, we hardly felt, construction part was what can be expected, mess at times (read demolition of main entrance, as we had to expand the foyer and relocate front door), trades mostly on time, site cleaned (which was really important to us) after the work day, all questions addressed and dealt with immediately. What more can one ask for from a contracting company? A Latte Grande? Thanks for the great job and keep scoring high. R. and R.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Great job, TCG! We love our new home! The job you have done is more than we could ever have dreamt of. All the fears and doubts were dispersed once we stared building. The speed, efficiency, quality and care made us feel safe extraordinaire ! Your trades are the best of the best. All the guys were more than considerate when working at the existing level, apologetic to be in our way (?) and were making sure that everything was cleaned at the end of each day. There is a small problem with that, now that Claire has learned some men can actually use the broom… My excuse was that it was not in our DNA, but what am I left with now? ? The decision to remain living in the house during the construction of our addition was the best decision we have made, of course – right after the decision to hire you! It saved us thousands of dollars and lots of work. We appreciate the help with the interior design and the fine talk when it came to choosing the finishes, as the opinions of the parties involved (read Claire and I) were not always in sync. Once again, our most heartfelt thank you for the job that exceeded our expectations. Brandon and ClaireReview from HomeOwner HomeOwner

We are very satisfied with the renovation experience that The Construction Group provided when we decided to add a 2-storey addition to our existing home. We would definitely recommend them. They have experienced crews that do the work quickly, professionally, cleanly and at a market-fair price. They were onsite everyday and the quality of work is very good. There was always someone in the office to help us out and answer our questions and attend to our concerns. Phone inquiries were always returned by the end of the day. We would definitely recommend The Construction Group for any of your renovation needs, in fact we already have!!Answer from pro:
Thank you, Nicholas, for this great review. You and your family made our job easy. Understanding, communication, patience and clarity is what makes a job like yours go well. It was a pleasure working for you and we are thankful for the opportunity to prove our theory that it takes both, a great homeowner and honest and hardworking builder to create wonderful homes. Thank you for being the one! :)

Review left on 16 Jun 2011Rating: 5 out of 5Converting 1.5 storey into two storey home
It is good to hear from you, Rosie! I am glad you are setting up this page as your name deserves to be out there. It's been more than a year since you finished our home and we have been enjoying it ever since. You have done a fantastic work, customer service was superb and trades very professional. We now have the space we need for our family, as well at the suite for my dad whose illness is progressing, which was expected. The fact that you incorporated, into the new design, changes to allow him to age gracefully in his home and managed to make it look as an integral part of the interior, is truly beyond our expectations. Kids are enjoying their wonderfully designed space in the basement to the point that we feel like intruders trying to use it on odd occassion. Every stage of the project was exciting, other than waiting for the building permit, of course. Being fully engaged in design, choosing materials and colors, profiles and level of quality we could afford, made the project completely custom tailored. At the same time we had the luxury of having your company take full control over our construction, with project manager always on site, ready to answer any question we may have had. Turning our 1.5 storey into a two shorey home, looked like a scary idea at the beginning, but as it turned out - with a good general contractor like yourself, not scary at all. This allowed us to stay in our much loved neighborhood at the price we could afford. Thank you for all the great advice that saved us a ton of money, thank you for not trying to sell as much as you could have, but for looking after our best interest.... thank you for a job well done ....Answer from pro:
Dear Mrs. J., we appreciate the time you took to review the work we have done for you. Your project was at times a challenge, but with clients like yourself and Mr. J. it was always easy to communicate and find reasonable solutions. We feel privileged to have had a chance to build your home and appreciate your trust and business very much. PS. We hope your father is doing well and that you too, get a chance to enjoy that fantastic basement of yours sometimes.

We would like to thank The Construction Group for the great job they did on our home. It happened just as they promised, quick, efficient, worry free. We loved the fact we did not have to go from one trade to another, trying to coordinate all of them and supervise at the same time, as it would go on indefinitely, like some projects of our friends and neighbours. Their job was simply fantastic, site was always kept clean, trades were almost always there as scheduled and if there was anything we did not understand or were not comfortable with they would give us attention and time needed to clarify. All the pricing was transparent, every job quoted separately, so at all times we knew where we are with the expenses. We had a great designer, that followed our instructions (wishes), yet would always guide us toward sensible solutions that would save us money. We highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again.Answer from pro:
Having clients like Brandon and yourself, Ivana, makes our job easy. Thank you for the great review. We strive to perfection and the best customer service. We wish you and your family many happy years in your beautiful home.

Review left on 2 Oct 2009Rating: 5 out of 5Roofing Job
I needed to have my roof fixed and Restorx was recommended by a friend. Their quote was totally reasonable and they delivered on all aspects of the job. They showed up when they said they would, the workmanship was excellent, and they left the jobsite spotless and the end of each work day. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs any type of renovation or repair in their home. I'm going to be bringing them back in the spring to replace all of my windows and to finish my basement.
