Fast, friendly and goes out of their way for great service. We shopped around for the right general contractor to renovate the basement in our 1912 home. We were impressed by the professionalism and customized design service that gave us a modern design that fit into the heritage element of the house. While not the cheapest, the transparency and cost certainty definitely played a big role in choosing Rectangle. During the renovation their trades and project managers were always courteous - from the start to the very last minute fixing punchlist items. Now that it's over, we've been complimented by everyone about not only how it turned out but also the attention to detail and quality of construction. Would definitely recommend!

We loved working with Rectangle! They were enthusiastic about our project and took our 1898 house down to the studs, renovated it and did a second floor addition. We moved out of our house at the beginning of March and our renovation started promptly. Renovating during a pandemic had all the potential to be very stressful but it wasn’t at all. They were incredibly organized with everything and any issues that came up were dealt with immediately. Shane and Christine always had great solutions and suggestions with any descions that we had to make. The design that they came up with was perfect for our family and was executed even better than we had thought possible. They took a house that we loved and turned it into our dream home, we honestly couldn’t have hoped for a better experience and are so grateful that we chose to work with Rectangle.

Rectangle did a fabulous job. We did a 3 floor, down-to-the-studs renovation of our 1990s infill. Rectangle helped reorient our main floor to make it a better use of space – focusing on where we spend our time (the kitchen!) and giving the overall look and feel of all three floors an update. They had creative solutions, listened to our preferences and helped to create an effective and efficient design. Rectangle came in on budget and on time. Any issues that we had during the process were managed through direct and fair communication. We were happy with the quality of the work and really love the end result.

We did a full 'to the studs' reno on an original 1959 house with Rectangle. It was a great experience. They were professional, had great design advice, were on time and extremely responsive when there were hiccups (even on weekends!). We would definitely hire them again!

I have worked as an HVAC sub-trade for Rectangle Design for the past 9 years. The Rectangle team have great co-ordinating skills with all the sub-trades which really helps the project move smoothly and helps us all to do our job well and stay on schedule. I work for a lot of builders and renovators and it is real nice to work for a contractor as organized as Rectangle Design.

We did a complete reno with Rectangle and only have amazing things to say about their process, their people and their product. They were on time, on budget and a real pleasure to work with along the way. They helped us make our house a home and if we ever reno again, would use them in a heartbeat.

Our second job with Rectangle, was a build from scratch. They worked with us, went over every detail and finished the job on time. Would use them again in heartbeat.

We built a large, inner city home with Shane and his team in 2015. We worked closely with Rectangle throughout the process and were impressed by how candid and straightforward our interactions with Shane and team were. Rectangle was quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we had, regardless of day or time. They hold themselves to a high standard for their clients, and we encountered this time and time again during the course of our build. Rectangle also came up with the design concept for our home, and we are very happy with their vision. Natural light is always streaming into our house, and the finishes are classic and will stand the test of time. Our space is modern and will adapt seamlessly with our family as it grows. We get endless compliments on our home when friends come to visit, and Rectangle gets all the credit for their hard work. Shane and team are very dedicated to their clients. If we build a second time, we will definitely work with Rectangle again . 12/10 - we highly recommend!

The team at Rectangle listened to what we wanted and came up with a great plan. We took a 1950's bungalow and converted it into a modern two story home. They truly care about what they do and how the customer feels about the project and will absolutely go that extra mile to make sure that the customer is satisfied. We love our home and would absolutely recommend using Rectangle.

It has been 3 years since the completion of our renovation and we are still happy we went with Rectangle. Everything is perfect after all this time and it looks that same as it did three years ago. I made the mistake of going with another company on a more recent renovation...I will not do that again. I kick myself every day for not using Rectangle. I guess you learn from your mistakes. I would recommend Shane and Rectangle on any future job you may do.
