I would like to say thanks to Mr. Rick Strand for providing thorough, detail home inspection and explaining every minute details. Before meeting Rick and considering we are first time home buyer, we were under lot of stress but not any more. We are going to use Rick's services for all of our future home inspections. Rick Strand provided exemplary service on our Home Inspection. Went well beyond what was expected. This is our third Home Inspection. I wish we had used Rick on the previous two. We highly recommend him to you. We learned so much being present at the inspection and he saved us money by pointing out a few thing which needed to be fixed by the seller. His final report was thoughtful and thorough. Well worth the time and cost, which was cheaper than the last inspector we used and yet so many times superior. Rick is a true professional and we could not be happier.

Thanks for the kind words; it is not unusual to find enough deficiencies to cover the cost of a home inspection, even on a relatively new house. I pride myself on providing a premium home inspection service and am constantly blown away by stories about home inspectors taking less than 3 hours and providing a cookie cutter report, sometimes right on site following the inspection! I book one inspection per day taking however much time is necessary, and believe that rushing to multiple inspections is not in the best interest of my clients.

So here I am debating whether or not to pay for a home inspection since I'm in commercial construction and I have extensive knowledge of home building. My wife felt strongly about an inspection so I googled for a home inspector, Rick came up with great reviews... and for a good reason! He inspected aspects of my new home that I would have never thought to inspect and did a thorough and excellent job! The report itself is full of valuable info that any homeowner should have. There's a reason why all the reviews give 10 out of 10. Rick was a true professional. First and foremost he takes the time to explain to you every detail he is observing throughout the inspection (good, bad or just a plain observation). He was very knowledgable and thourough. He inspected our home for 6 hours! His report offered very specific recommendations for deficiencies that should be addressed immediately, vs. minor details that could be corrected at your discretion. If you're buying a home it's the biggest purchase you're likely to make. You're better off spending a little extra money to get a guy who gets 10/10 from all his customers.

We are in the process of buying our first home. We received a referral from another home inspector to try Strand Home Inspections. Rick Strand encouraged us to be there during the whole inspection. We stayed the 3 ish hours it took to complete. The more questions we asked, the more we learned. He suggested small improvements that could prevent bigger problems and costs in the future. We were impressed with how thorough and open he was. I would recommend him to friends and family. If you want to know what is going on in your future home, I would use Rick.

There is a good reason why a home inspection need take 3 to 4 hours. Rick doesn't overlook anything. If you're only looking for a real-estate conditional-sale rubber stamp, and can afford to purchase keep a neglected home - stay away. If you REALLY want to know the state of what you are buying, Rick is your man!

Seems simple enough but if a home inspector depends upon real estate agents for referrals, it can become an un-holy alliance. Home buyers should carefully scrutinize any home inspector who has been referred to them by anyone who stands to gain financially from the sale of the property.
