    kitchen reno

I had used Jason over the past while to do some odd jobs. When the time came to renovate my kitchen I felt comfortable having him do the job. I had also seen some of his other work. It went very well, nothing is ever perfect, you can expect something to come up. When there was an issue we talked about it, there were no big surprises, he was upfront with me. We also had him do a deck on the back of the house.

    garage makeover

After researching companies to do the reno, I chose Brothers In Arms. I read and hear good things about their work. Jason turned my garage into a laundry area, a rec room and a mud room. The area looks great, we have had a lot of positive feedback. Very happy with the work they did. They took care of everything from the permits, the sub contractors to the finish. It took a little longer than expected but was done in a month and a half. It was not their fault for the delay, just circumstances. The finish product is excellent.

    Front extension

This was for a front porch extension. This was being built on an existing pad, with an existing roof overhang. No structural work. We started this project in Nov'13, and it was supposed to be done before the winter set in. While the beginning stages (framing, electrical) happened quite quickly, the rest of the project got stalled, with very little to no communication from Jason. Taper & mudder would not show up, and we wouldn't receive a call, text or an email. Nothing telling us what was happening with the project. We would send texts & emails & leave voice mails, but our project would just sit there for 1 week without any progress. Finally, the winter showed up, and we were told by Jason that he would not be able to put on the external stone, or paint the outside as it was too cold, but that he would return in the spring. It is now summer. We have been calling & texting. We did receive a call from Jason that he would arrive on Weds, and that the rest of the work would take 2 days, and would be finished by the weekend. That was 3 weeks ago, and we have had no other communication since. We have again attempted to email, text, leave messages, and have heard nothing. Is this what all contractors are like? Terrible service, terrible communication, not bad work...what was actually finished.

    Main Bathroom Renovation

We had Jay from Brother's in Arms come and bring our very outdated Bathroom into this century. He and his crew did a wonderful job and were extremely professional through the entire reno. The sub-trades he had come in were also amazing to work with. We also had them paint our main floor and even work with my in-laws to get a basement renovation completed. I can't wait to have them back to get our Master bathroom redone also. I would recommend Jay to anyone and everyone.

General contractor for home renovation involving kitchen, master bathroom, stairs, laundry, tiling entraneway, painting and front walkway.

Jay was always very friendly and approachable from the quoting process to the job's finish. He explained the quote and what was involved. He delivered on budget and on time. Any post renovation follow up thus far has been great. Most importantly the quality of his work and that of his sub-contactors was very good. We felt we were in good and competent hands which meant a lot to us.

Built ~250 sqft extension to an existing deck, complete with stairs, storage, and privacy wall.

Jointly designed an extension to my existing deck to accomodate a hot tub. Design included a stairs down to the new lower level, skirting around the existing deck to make it useable as storage, required footings to support the hot tub, and a privacy wall. Deck was done entirely in PT, and a diamond pattern was created in the deck surface.

    Kitchen renovation

Brother in arms took on a bathroom remodel for us when we first moved into our home. Bathroom remodel was very good and took the room from the '80s and brought it into the '00s. Our kitchen remodel was more extensive with new custom cabinets, flooring, and backsplash. Relocation of a mainfloor laundry closet that was situated between the kitchen and the dining room was also done to create a "butler's nook". Excellent idea and looks fantastic. Refreshing to find a competent, honest and reliable contractor. We're very pleased and satisfied.
